2 CHAIRMAN S SPOT Dear Members, It is hard to believe that a new ski season is on the horizon and Christmas is only a short time away. I hope you have all had a lovely summer break and are ready to dig out your ski boots and sharpen your edges ready for the slopes! Janet has been very busy planning the club s ski holiday for March 2017! This will be Chalet Hotel Charlotte in Serre Chevalier, with Ski Miquel on 5th March 2017 (Sunday flights to Turin). I understand that the chalet is now full, so this will be a great holiday. We also have information on two additional holidays - Valmeinier ( with Snow Coach and Cervinia with Christian Xavier (flights from Manchester). The official Open Night was held on Wednesday 23th November 2016 at the Green Dragon, Dronfield. This year we had guest speakers - Marilyn & Roy Small - who did a presentation all about their Ski Touring Experiences! And about the time Roy was caught in an avalanche!! - Many thanks to them for an very interesting talk, informative and with jaw dropping photo s of the places and people. We will be continuing to meet on the 4th Wednesday every month (see dates for your diary), so please come along and tell us about your holidays and share your experiences and photos! Our next Wednesday meeting will be the annual Noggin and Natter on Wednesday 14 December come along and sample a mince pie and exchange Christmas cards and any last minute queries about ski holidays. Finally, I would like to wish you all a happy Ski Season - where ever you get to, and don t forget to take plenty of photos to share at our monthly meetings! If we don t see you in December - have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Sue Mason HSC Chairman Page 1
