Built in 1998, Watford s Integer House is a tiberfraed eco-hoe, which ais to trial and showcase the latest innovations in sustainability and energy efficiency. Going the distance for charity It was dubbed the House of the Future by the BBC but 15 years on it was in need of updated technology and a spruce-up. Ian Willias partnered with British Gas to deliver internal decorations in April this year and returned in July to coplete external decorations. Throughout the suer people will be living in the house and blogging about their experiences with green features such as solar water and groundsource heating. 4 Skills showcase Over coing challenges is part of any job. For Ian Willias facing the eleents, accessing hard-to-reach locations and retaining historic integrity of buildings, is an everyday task. This year has seen us coplete an evergrowing nuber of exciting and varied projects, including work with Centre Parcs, Trinity House, the General Lighthouse Authority, housing provider Curo Group, and any ore clients. Our highly skilled operatives are experienced in working in a variety of environents fro educational establishents, to hotels, lighthouses and council buildings. We have a vast experience as a business of working on projects which deand a highlevel of skill, and often flexibility. Here is a snapshot of the projects we have entered into the Painting and Decorating Preier Annual Trophy Copetition The winners of the Painting and Decorating Preier Annual Trophy Copetition 2013 will be announced at the Plaisterers Hall, London, on July 4. Seaton s Tower With just 10 weeks until the Olypic Torch arrived in Plyouth, we refreshed the tower - an iconic landark, it would be the focal point to the Hoe. Work included stripping, painting, cleaning and repainting the lantern and lighthouse in nine weeks. Sauel Cody Specialist Sports College Our challenge was to coplete repair and redecoration works whilst the secondary school was occupied and all students having special educational needs (SEN). To brighten up the colour schee we used an electrostatic spray. This eant a 15k saving over replacing doors. Bridgnorth Cliff Railway The steepest railway in England connects the High Town and Low Town of Bridgnorth, with a 33 degree incline. The project posed interesting access challenges as the carriages are at opposite ends of the track to each other. Our operatives negotiated a syste to reach either side of both of the carriages. The Pantiles Royal Tunbridge Wells Reinvigorating The Pantiles was challenging due to residents and visitors needing access. Health and safety was a key consideration given the building foring part of a key tourist attraction. We received very positive feedback following the work which saw us render, repair and repaint large areas of the building. Nash Point Lighthouse When repainting the 37 and 25 etre high and low towers we had to bear in ind the public access to the site, as well as working at heights and the ipact of the weather at such an exposed location. On the high tower three different access ethods were used to achieve a high quality of work copleted. Fit for a king A luxury castle in the Cotswolds is one of the latest stunning buildings to receive an update thanks to Ian Willias. We are copleting internal decorations at Thornbury Castle, in Gloucestershire, which is now a hotel - having provided a bed for kings and queens in the past. The work will see us decorate walls and ceilings in restaurants, a bar, staircases, sitting roo, Tudor Hall, lobby and bathroos. A tea of four operatives is aintaining the opulence of the venue and the grandeur of the oak interiors. 4 Suer 2013
