8 CVB Services Once your event is scheduled in Santa Clara, our Convention Services Department can provide a variety of services designed to facilitate the planning and execution of an effective meeting. These services include consultation, onsite registration personnel, collateral materials and online housing coordination for citywide conventions. Convention Sales The Santa Clara Convention and Visitors Bureau sales team is here to assist you and help minimize the time and effort on your part in obtaining information about our city. We are also here to assist you with the planning of your special events, conventions, trade shows, meetings and conferences. Our sales team will: Assist you with your sales selection for your event and save you time planning your event Send your RFP to our hotel partners Collect hotel proposals with rates and availability Schedule site inspections for you with our hotels and tour the facilities with you Registration Service The professional staff provided by the Bureau for registration assistance is qualified to do typing, data entry and hospitality hosting. To implement this service, we need to receive requests in writing no later than four weeks prior to the move-in date. Housing Coordination When three or more hotels in Santa Clara are prebooked for convention housing, we can serve as your Housing Bureau for a fee. With a customized web page linked to your web site, we can provide hotel information and online room reservations in addition to reserving by fax or mail. If you are considering using this service, please contact our staff prior to hotel negotiations for further information. To implement this service, we require notification a minimum of six months prior to your event. Pre-Promotion Attendance Builders To promote attendance for your Santa Clara convention, the Bureau offers PowerPoint presentations, slides, videos and general information on Santa Clara and other areas of interest. Mission Santa Clara de Asis The eighth of 21 missions built in California, founded in 1777 by the Spanish Franciscans.
