Council of Catholic Women Seafarers Shoebox Project The CCW are accepting monetary donations for the Seafarers Shoebox Project. They will purchase the items in bulk, with the hope of packaging up more than 100 boxes of goodies for the seafarers who enter the Port of Houston during the Christmas holidays. To make a contribution toward this project, please pick up one of the envelopes in the vestibule. Gift wrapping of these 100+ shoeboxes will take place Saturday, November 8, 9:00 am in Prefontaine Hall. Confirmation and High School Youth, this is a great way to earn service hours! FLU VACCINATIONS - We are pleased to offer a flu vaccine clinic on Tuesday October 21 from 7:30 am - 9:30 am in Prefontaine Hall. MEMORIAL MASS & RECEPTION REMEMBERING THOSE WHO HAVE DIED FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 7:00 PM Throughout the month of November, we remember our beloved parishioners and family members who have died this past year at a special Memorial Mass. Those who have died from November 1, 2013 through October 31, 2014, will be acknowledged by name at the Memorial Mass. The Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi on Friday, November 7, at 7:00 pm. We will pray for the members of our parish and our family who have died within the past year. If you would like to have your loved one remembered, please Submit their name in writing to the Parish Office NO LATER than Friday, October 31. The name will be read aloud during the Memorial Mass. Be sure the name is spelled correctly. Include your name and phone number so that we can verify the correct pronunciation. Include the date of death of your loved one. (List ONLY the names of those who have died from November 1, 2013 to October 31, Forms are available in the church vestibule. PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY - October 26 Celebrated annually on the last Sunday of October, Priesthood Sunday is a day set aside to honor the priests in the United States. It is a day upon which to reflect and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church. Our parish priests, Fr. Tom, Fr. Bob and Fr. Peter, are loved and respected by those in our parish community. May God continue to bless them in their ministry and by expressions of our gratitude. Hermana Heloise Vicario de Religiosos DOMINGO SACERDOTAL 26 de Octubre Se celebra anualmente el último domingo de octubre, el Domingo Sacerdotal es un día especial que se designa para honrar a los sacerdotes en los Estados Unidos. Es un día que debemos reflexionar y afirmar el papel del sacerdocio en la vida de la Iglesia. Nuestros sacerdotes, Padre Tom, Padre Bob y Padre Peter, son queridos y respetados por todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad. 4 Page 4 MISA MEMORIAL & RECEPCION RECORDANDO A QUINES HAN MUERTO VIERNES 7 DE NOVIEMBRE, 7:00 PM Cada año recordamos a nuestros queridos feligreses y miembros de sus familias quienes hayan fallecido este año pasado con una Misa Memorial. Este año, quienes han muerto desde el 1o. de Noviembre del 2013 hasta el 31 de Octubre del 2014, van a ser reconocidos por su nombre durante esta Misa. Una Misa Memorial se va a celebrar en la Parroquia Corpus Christi el viernes 7 de Noviembre a las 7:00 pm, rogando por los miembros de nuestra parroquia y los miembros de nuestra familia quienes hayan muerto durante el año pasado. Si a usted le gustaría recordar a sus seres queridos, por favor Proporcione sus nombres por escrito a la Oficina Parroquial ANTES del viernes, 31 de Octubre. Los nombres se van a leer durante la Misa Memorial. Por favor, estén seguros de escribir los nombres correctamente y con letra clara. Incluya la fecha de muerte de sus seres queridos. (UNICAMENTE incluya en su lista los nombres de quienes han muerto este año pasado de 1 de Noviembre 1, 2013 al 31 de Octubre, 2014). CONCILIO DE DAMAS CATOLICAS PROYECTO CAJAS DE ZAPATOS PARA MARINEROS Durante el mes de octubre, el Concilio de Damas está aceptando donaciones monetarias para este proyecto. Se van a comprar artículos por mayoreo, con la esperanza de ofrecer estas cajas de regalo con artículos necesarios a los marineros que entran al Puerto de Houston durante el tiempo de Navidad. Para ofrecer sus contribuciones, favor de usar los sobres que se encuentran en el vestíbulo de la iglesia. VACUNAS DE INFLUENZA Tenemos el gusto de ofrecer vacunas para la influenza el martes 21 de octubre de 7:30 am 9:30 am en el Salón Parroquial. El costo de inyecciones es de $25 y la vacuna nasal $30. Se acepta dinero en efectivo, cheques y Medicare. Varias enfermeras estarán disponibles para facilitar el mínimo de tiempo de espera. FORMACION DE ADULTOS Tenemos el gusto de comunicarles que recientemente se está teniendo formación de adultos, los domingos de 10:15 11:15 am en el Salón # 15. Todos son bienvenidos a participar en este grupo. Actualmente se esta ofreciendo el tema sobre la Misa. Si desea información adicional, favor de llamar a la oficina. MEMORIAL DE TODOS LOS MUERTOS Durante el mes de noviembre, pedimos especialmente por nuestros familiares y amigos que han fallecido. La conmemoración de los difuntos es celebrada el 2 de noviembre en las Misas de al fin de semana. Una mesa se va a colocar en el vestíbulo para pones fotos de tamaño pequeño de nuestros seres queridos. Por favor traiga sus fotos enmarcadas a la oficina parroquial antes del domingo 26 de octubre. SACRAMENTO DEL MATRIMONIO ULTIMA OPORTUNIDAD Durante esta semana todavía hay tiempo de unirse a este grupo que pronto empieza su preparación.
