Reading and Comprehension (Engish into Spanish Skills Comprehension) Read the following article and answer the questions carefully: Year after year there are thousands of people in Madrid s Puerta del Sol on the 31st of December to celebrate the end of the old year and the beginning of the new. As midnight approaches, crowds of enthusiastic Spaniards begin to gather in this place. They wear scarves and overcoats because of the cold and they bring bottles of champagne and a bunch of twelve grapes to keep time with each chime from the bell of the big clock in the square. The Puerta del Sol is unique on nights like this. So many people together -no friend and foreing division as in sports competitions- with one single idea in mind: to have a great time. The occasion is exceptional: the old year goes out and the new year comes in only once a year. Children are happy because there is no school at this time and there are also lots of toys. Family members come from different places to be together for the celebrations. SPAIN IS DIFFERENT!
