A cereal bar is available at breakfast and a salad bar is available at lunch and dinner with the cafeteria meal plan. *Friday night Dinner will be provided by Girls Ministries at Waupaca First Assembly s campsite. 3 HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR SPONSORS WHEN I ARRIVE I SHOULD. 1. Check into the Summer Camp Office. 2. Check in to your campsite by entering from Spencer Lake Road CAMP VERSE Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS Start planning NOW! BE FLEXIBLE AND HAVE FUN!! Plan extra space for missions items. Snacks and Trinkets will be available to purchase in The Store. The Scavenger Hunt is a great way to meet others and make new friends. Remind girls to use restroom before service. Everyone MUST use the crosswalk!! Cooking is NOT allowed in cabins. Can I bring younger children? We discourage younger children attending as it hinders your quality time with your girls. Can men or boys come? There will be men/boys who are a part of the GGE Team or are employed by Spencer Lake. They will be designated as such. Otherwise, no men or boys are allowed on the grounds except during the Celebration Service and lunch on Saturday. Firewood is available for sale by Spencer Lake for $5.00 an arm load. TIPS FOR COOKING YOUR OWN MEALS Plan your menu ahead of time. Ask church members to donate items. (Make sure to designate a date you will be collecting items.) Pack any essential items (can openers, pizza cutter, pot holders). Assign duties, such as assist with cooking, doing dishes, clean up, etc. for each girl. Vary duties day to day. WHAT TO PACK Banner, flag or sign to designate your area with your church name Extra bibles, paper, crayons or markers Rainy day or quiet activities (board games, word searches, etc.) BE PREPARED! 4 PENNY FUND GOAL $4,000-Local and National Missions All girls are encouraged to collect change during the year for the penny fund to support our local and National Missions. Clubs have collected offerings throughout the year by having: a special offering, bake sales, home-made cookie sales each, pie sales, and babysitting. You re only limited by your imagination. 25% of this goal will be given to Coins for Kids. This years CFK project is SPECIAL TOUCH MINISTRIES!! This ministry has roots right here in Wisconsin. Started by Deb and Charlie Chivers, Special Touch is committed to serving people with intellectual and physical disabilities, their families and caregivers. Help us bless others!! PENNY POSTER Make a penny poster that includes your church name and the dollar amount you brought. It may reflect either Girls Ministries or the camp theme. Bring your poster to the parade on Friday night and they will be displayed throughout the weekend. Project 20/20-By the year 2020, the Assemblies of God Healthcare Division is hoping to collect 2 million 20 pairs of prescription glasses to give sight to those who need it on the mission field. Our goal is to collect 100 pairs of glasses. (Please no sunglasses or cases.) Bring a pair of flip-flops, shoes, or socks for Rural Compassion, a ministry which supplies shoes to the needy of rural America. CAN WE COLLECT 300 ITEMS THIS YEAR? Notions: Notions are toiletry and miscellaneous items that are used by Missionaries. As missionaries come home or preparing to leave, they are invited to shop for free in the Heart to Heart Room. These items are a blessing to each missionary. Items that can be donated include, but are not limited to: Soap (liquid or bar, not Ivory) Shampoo/Conditioner Bandages Garbage Bags Shaving Cream Razors Kleenex Toothpaste Toothbrushes Zip-Lock Bags Toilet Paper Q-Tips Cotton balls Small appliances Sheets Tylenol/Ibuprofen Towels (Bath & Kitchen) Feminine Products (High Demand) We ask that these items be brought in boxes or Rubbermaid containers that can also be donated. Be sure to sign up in the office during Great Girls Escape to sign up to help put all the Notions away!
