3 Camp Mission Camp exists to connect students and children to a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ, so they can influence the Next Generation and become all they have been designed, called and gifted to be. We will demonstrate the love of Jesus to students by providing a safe environment away from normal distractions of life where they can build significant relationships with peers and trustworthy adults, while growing in their knowledge of God. Where We re Headed average June temps 84 daytime 48 nighttime lake temperature ~60 degrees elevation 7,500 ft. (drink tons of water!) At 7,500 feet, your camper might experience some altitude sickness. To keep that from happening, students must do these things: Drink lots of water. Your body may lose more fluid at the higher altitude, so drink more than you normally would. Bring a reusable water bottle that you can keep with you during all daily activities. We ll have water stations all over the campgrounds you can use to refill. *MUST BE REUSABLE! NOT OZARKA OR OTHER ONE-TIME-USE PLASTIC WATER BOTTLE* Take it easy and don t exhaust yourself the first night. Let your body get used to the higher altitude and lower oxygen levels. Know the symptoms of altitude sickness: dizziness or light-headedness nausea or vomiting shortness of breath sleeplessness persistent rapid pulse Campers: If you experience any of these symptoms, tell your small group leader and let them take you to the Medical Station.
4 How You Can Help Check out this packing list in this booklet. Don t wait until the night before to get everything ready for your student! Arrive at our campus on time so that your student can get checked in. There will be Servant-Leaders and Staff Members to direct you where to go. Once your student is checked-in, please say goodbye and exit promptly. You can watch from the street by Abell. Make sure the food items your student packs are nonperishable. Please go over the no cell phone policy with your student and explain why this is important for the week. If your student does not end up with the roommates they requested, this does not constitute an emergency. Staff worked hard to honor these requests as best as possible. Please make sure your student is aware of all of the expectations in this booklet. Money - No Camp Bank Only Cash Accepted Campers can enjoy the entire week in Glorieta without spending a dime! The only extra expenses are optional gift shop and coffee items. Coffee items can be anywhere from $3-6, and gift shop souvenirs are a range of prices. We ve planned ahead to make sure campers have plenty to eat and drink while they re at Camp. Students are responsible for the money they bring. Stonegate is not liable or responsible for any lost or stolen money. Medication Please pack all prescription medications your child may need while at Camp. All medications must be dropped off during registration on Sunday, June 3. We will NOT accept medications before the day we leave. All medications MUST remain at the Medical Station for the duration of Camp (exception: inhalers and epi pens). There will be specified times when your student will be able to receive his/her medication (breakfast, lunch, dinner, bedtime). All medication will be administered by authorized Camp Medical Staff. Please pack your student s medication in the original prescription bottles only. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY LOOSE MEDICATION. Please bring only the amount needed for Camp. All medication must be placed in its original package in a clear plastic bag with your student s name, age and gender clearly written on the front of the bag in black, permanent marker. Camp Mail **Change this year** We will not be delivering or accepting any mail throughout the week at Glorieta. If you would like your student to have mail from you while he/she is away at SGY Camp, please pack it in their suitcase for them to open up during the week. We will not deliver messages to campers or any other mail delivered to Glorieta this year.
5 Parent Info Your source for all information about SGY Camp will be the SGY Facebook page: We will update the page with photos and videos throughout the week, as well as links to watch our evening worship / teaching times via live stream!
