19 Get Ready to GO! NEW! Look for in-person training coming to a community near you in 2019! Are you ready to Get Outdoors with your troop? For the safety of all Girl Scouts, GSSEM requires all troop leaders to complete both the Trip and Camp Readiness and Camping Beyond the Cabin online training programs: Outdoor 1 Training Trip and Camp Readiness. This required two-part training can be done from the comfort of your own home. The first part is self-paced online training. After completing the online training, adults sign up for one of the monthly webinars to complete the training and ask questions. Outdoor 2 Training Camping Beyond the Cabin. This required two-part training begins with a self-paced, online component followed by an in-person training where leaders will try their hand at the practical skills needed to take troops tent camping. First Aid/CPR GSUSA requires the presence of an adult who has a current certificate in First Aid, as well as Adult and Child CPR for all troop/ group camping along with a waterproof first-aid kit. Present First Aid/CPR cards at Camp Office at check-in. The Weekend Camp Unplugged Challenge At Weekend Camp, campers are busy from sun up to sun down and because we cannot provide protection from the elements and natural surroundings, we strongly suggest that all ipads, ipods, MP3 players, and any electronic devices be left at home. Electronic devices brought to camp are at your own risk. GSSEM is not responsible for damage or theft. Campers who do not bring/do not use cell phones will earn the 2019 I Unplugged at Camp patch.
