Don t forget SWAPS! Saturday Lunch: Troops are encouraged to brown bag lunch to ensure girls are able to par cipate in as many ac vi es as possible. Saturday Dinner: Available at the Lodge for $6 per person. Catered by Troop # (See Registra on form) 9:30 10:00am Open Programs: Available any me Hiking: Over 7 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails with two interpre ve trails. Guides and maps provided upon arrival, or print your own at h p:// maps.html. Outdoor Equipment: Available for use; horse shoes, volleyball, playground, ball field, soccer goals, ladder golf, corn toss, and more. Fishing poles: May be checked out at the Visitor Center. You supply your own bait. Girls over the age of 16 must have a Movie in the Park Enjoy a movie, with popcorn, outdoors at the amphitheater. SWAPS, Skits, and More This is your troops opportunity to shine with a fun skit. Celebrity judges will judge SWAPS and skits, so bring your best stuff. Don t forget something to sit on. If you have a SWAP entry for the compe on it needs to be at the Chalet no later than 3:15pm for judging. SWAPs categories Wildest Best Animal Best Food Skit Categories Best Theme Related Best Use of Props Funniest Saturday Night Hike Meet at the 9:00pm, to experience what you can find (or what can find YOU) a er dark!
3 Program Sessions Each troop will need to choose up to four Program Sessions for their troop. All troops must have a chaperone for each program. For example, if half the troop selects sewing and the other half selects hiking; each group must have the proper adult supervision. Program schedule is subject to change according to demand. Animal Trackers Masks and Disguises Animals are hiding all around us, so why don t we see them? Discover some of the masks and disguises cri ers use and make your own. Open to Daisy through Ambassador (Max 20 / session) Put your detec ve hats on and hit the trails in search of the cri ers living at Turtle River! 110 minute Session (Max of 20 / session) Bu on Cra s Bu on, bu on, we will have lots of bu ons to create your own unique cri er! Bonkers for Bugs Bugs are the BEST! We will be searching high and low for all the bugs, big and small. Open to Daisy through Ambassador (Max of 20/session) (Max of 20 / session) Earthly Art Wild about nature? Bring it home with you with the nature art you will make! (Max of 20 / session) Animal Homes Where do cri ers spend their nights? See some animal homes first hand and test your skills making your own. Open to Daisy through Ambassador (Max of 20/session) Journaling with Nature Tell a good story or simply jot down your day in a nature journal of your crea on! (Max of 20/ session) Feather Art Ruffle some feathers while crea ng a mobile made from items found in nature. (Max 20 / session)
4 Accommodations Cabins Visit the Turtle River State Park website for more informa on on accommoda ons: h p:// $74 per night/day use Please contact Sarah Krogfoss to confirm cabin availability before submi ng registra on. A total of twelve units ten units sleep six each, bunk bed style; two units are wheelchair accessible and sleep three each. All units are equipped with private showers and toilets. Linens and bedding are NOT provided. No cooking is allowed inside; however, grills and picnic tables are available nearby. First come first serve for cabin reserva ons. Cabins must be reserved for Friday AND Saturday night. Cabins keys must be returned to Sarah by 10:00am Sunday morning. Campsites $39 per night/day use Fire ring and picnic table provided. Maximum of 2 tents per campsite (addi onal tents may be added to campsites for an addi onal $12.00 per night). Tents may not be placed on cabin lawns. Camp Park Pass $7 per vehicle per day Each vehicle is required to have a Camp Park Pass, or a ND Parks & Recrea on annual vehicle entrance permit. Each Camp Park Pass is good for ONE day of camp; Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If you stay for all three days you will need to purchase 3 camp park passes. Program fees No refunds available for registra ons, cabins, or campsites a er July 17th. Daisy $50 per girl Fee covers: Saturday Program Sessions, Camp LOL patch, fun patches, T shirt, and lanyard with badge. Troop is responsible for meals. Brownie & Up $55 per girl Fee covers: Friday evening ac vi es and Saturday Program Sessions, Camp LOL patch, fun patches, T shirt, and lanyard with badge. Troop is responsible for meals. Adults Free May order T shirt for $15. Things to know: All wood must be purchased from the park. Outside wood is not allowed due to the emerald ash borer threat. Turtle River State Park is a protected area for wildlife, plants, insects and other natural things. It is unlawful to collect from the park, including rocks and wood.
