President s report number 14 Well the big news this week is that our club has been successful in its application for Qld. State Govt. funding. Some months ago Neil Jones spent much time in fastidiously completing an application for a grant to allow the purchase of a vehicle for transporting our scooter fleet when required and also for a similar amount to allow a refresh/extension of our scooter fleet. The amount of $62, was deposited into our bank account from the OLGR. Gaming Regulation). Our sausage sizzlers are going with guns ablaze lately. As well as our normal Friday sessions at Bunnings Ashmore, we ve picked up two week-end sizzles courtesy of Sea-FM via Nerang Rotary who have passed them over to us. Our club is growing and enthusiasm is high we have been able to do these extra days quite easily and many thanks to those involved (we ve grossed $1,500 into our Project a/c s from the 2 days so far and margins are good. As there are no meeting rooms available at the Crowne Plaza this coming Tuesday we are once again of to the University Club Dining room at Bond University same spot where we held our Gold Coast Young Achievers awards earlier this year. The environment there is very pleasant and the weather is warming maybe we will see our first balmy summer evening meeting?

The main lawn at Broadwater Parklands will be our venue for the concert which will run from 2:30pm to 5:30pm on Friday 19 th October. The whole area will be fenced off with Colorbond Fencing to allow policing of entrants to ensure we collect their $10 donations which will be going 50:50 to Make a Wish Foundation and our own End Polio Campaign We shall need about 12 volunteers to run the event, so please be prepared to put your name down to help and hopefully many more will show up to show your support for Broadbeach Rotary Events. The date of our event coincides with the 1 st day of the V8 Supercar Weekend so traffic will be busy, the best point of entry is opposite the end of Nind Street, with parking following a drive around the end of the Aquatic Centre, or in Australia Fair and just walk across the road. The corporation assists clients with creating a data base of names for future invitations & also provides help with market research--in an effort to make events more productive. Advising on product marketing ---business approach & products --- using special large events. The goal of event organising is to stimulate business growth and the sales of products.. Examples of Large Events arranged include, ---Boat Shows Trade Events Services Nett Working The Blues Festival Products and Sporting Events The Gold Coast Annual Show Motor Racing. It is considerably cheaper to expose businesses at a show, rather than through advertising. People are interested in seeing new products. It encourages proprietors to compare their businesses, with like businesses --comparing presentation, back up & product information.
