1 The 2010 Sam and Rina Scott McGill Family Reunion is planned for Thursday, July 1 Sunday July 4, 2010 in the beautiful and wonderfully historic city of Charleston, South Carolina. The long 4th of July weekend will offer lots of fun activities during our reunion. Our reunion kick-off Meet & Greet will be the evening of Thursday, July 1st featuring refreshments, event registration and the first opportunity to fellowship with relatives and familiarize yourself with our host hotel the Residence Inn Charleston Airport in North Charleston and our reunion s activities. Included in this package are details of our reunion s schedule, available activities, discounted lodging and transportation information. We are offering 3 different payment deadlines with an increase in cost as the reunion draws closer to encourage early payment. As there are varying deadlines for payments to be made to our service providers we urge you to send in payments prior to the first deadline - January 30, to ensure that we will be able to have all planned activities. Payment Plan: If you are unable to make payments all at once we encourage you to submit payments on a monthly basis in order to meet payment deadlines allowing you to lock-in your desired registration cost and permitting the Reunion Committee to make payments as scheduled. We are hoping for the biggest reunion attendance ever and request additional volunteers to assist with each activity on-site to make our reunion an enjoyable occasion for everyone. Other features include a water sprinkler, two playgrounds, a play hill, paved and unpaved trails, a park center, and picnic areas. Bicycles, pedal boats and kayaks are available for rental at the facility. The park also features Whirlin Waters Adventure Waterpark offering more than 15 acres with an otter bay, lily pad lagoon for toddlers, a big kahuna, tree house and more. Group Waterpark admission is $15 per person (2009 rate, may increase minimally in 2010) Saturday, July 3, :00 pm - 9:30 pm Family Reunion Banquet aboard the Spirit of Charleston cruise ship The Spirit of Charleston is custom-designed for entertaining. From the handcrafted marble and mahogany bar in the Main Salon to her panoramic windows, the Spirit of Charleston was built to provide her guests with gracious Southern hospitality while enjoying Charleston s magnificent harbor views. Aboard the 2.5 hour cruise we will have the opportunity to enjoy a sumptuous multi-course gourmet meal, banquet program with talent show, DJ and dancing as we cruise through the harbor. Sunday, July 4, 2010 All day Charleston Area Independence Day Festivities The Committee realizes some family members will be returning home on July 4th while others will remain until July 5th. As we receive responses from the family we will be able to gauge who will remain until July 5th. If we have a large enough group remaining, we will explore the multitude of activities available in the area and apprise the family of the options and the cost. We also welcome suggestions of things you would like to do.
