1 World Potato Congress & ALAP Congress Program May 26 June 01, 2018 The World Potato Congress is the most important scientific event on potato development worldwide and will be held for the first time in South America. This 2018 will be held in Cusco, Perú on May 26 th until June 1, The following program relates to the World Potato Congress Program. Pre and Post Tours are separate programs and can be coordinated with the Congress Program. Flights can be provided from any Canadian major centre, to join up with a group rate flight from Toronto to Lima, Peru. Individuals wishing to use their own points for domestic flights in Canada are quite able to do so or we can provide domestic flights for a continuous journey flight package. Day 01: May 26, 2018: Toronto/Lima Welcome to Peru! Upon arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport, you will be received by a Domiruth Travel Service representative and transfer to hotel located in the residential district of Miraflores. (B) Day 06: May 31, 2018: Cusco: World Potato Congress 2018 (WPC) (B, L) Field Trip 02 Options: (Choose one option) Option A: Visit the Potato National Park: Area of Indigenous Biocultural Heritage (APBCI) formed by six communities, with more than six thousand inhabitants, Sacaca, Chawaytire, Pampallaqta, Paru Paru and Amaru. All projects are managed collectively because they ensure the effective participation and sharing of benefits derived, equitably. Option B: Visit INIA Agricultural Experimental Station (EEAA) Andenes, located in the province of Anta (Sacred Valley), different types of potatoes are grown on ecological floors with scientific accompaniment. 18:00 Hrs.
