2 ATTACHMENTO Weather In July, the temperature in Lima could range between 14 and 19 C. 9. Electricity In Peru the voltage is 220 V, 60Hz. 10. Currency Peruvian official currency is the Nuevo Sol (S/.), which is currently being traded at S/ per 1 USD (one U.S. Dollar). 11. Credit cards International credit cards usually accepted in hotels, markets and restaurants are: American Express, MasterCard, Visa, etc. 12. Passport Identification requirements must be verified with the Peruvian Consulate or Embassy in the country of origin. Such requirements might include the need for a visa. 13. Tips and taxes The recommended tip is 10% of the expenditure incurred. Usually tip is suggested at the end of the bill and its inclusion is optional. Sales and services are taxed at the Tax on General Sales (IGV), which is currently 18% of the value of acquisitions. In transport (taxis or other) is not usual to tip drivers, being at the discretion of the passenger. 14. Security Recommendations The security recommendations are the same for all cities, as carrying only the necessary money, no valuable jewelry and order a safety taxi. Hotel taxis are recommended. 15. Comunicaciones Besides public telephones (for urban, national and international calls), international calls can be done from hotels.
