4 DAYFOUR MONDAY, AUGUST 3 CUSCO - PISAQ - LAMAY Awanacancha - Pisaq Town - Viacha 07:30 - Depart Cusco 08:15-9:00 - Visit the Textile Center of Awanacancha 09:30-10:45 - Visit the town of Pisaq and market 11:30 - After a short drive we reach the village of Viacha Amaru - Viacha Hike (2.5 hrs) 07:30 - Depart Cusco 09:00 - Arrive at the community of Amaru and start a moderate hike 11:30 - End the hike at the village of Viacha SHARED PROGRAM Community of Viacha - Archeological site of Pisaq 11:30-12:00 - Walk around Viacha, and learn more about the agricultural activities of the community 12:15 - Enjoy a traditional meal cooked under hot stones called Pachamanca 13:00-15:00 - Guided tour of the archeological site of Pisaq (optional hike from the ruins to the town of Pisaq - about 1.5 hrs downhill) 16:00 - Drive to Lamay Lodge. 6 DAYSIX WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5 HUACAHUASI - OLLANTAYTAMBO Explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, local markets and the town of Ollantaytambo 07:00 - Depart Huacahuasi Lodge by vehicle to Sacred Valley 09:30-10:30 - Visit the market in the town of Calca (optional bike ride along the river in Sacred Valley) 11:00-12:00 - Visit to a museum of historical artifacts in the valley 12:30-14:00 - Lunch at local restaurant 14:30-16:00 - Drive to Ollantaytambo (30 mins) and explore the town, the oldest continuously inhabited dwelling in South America. 7 DAYSEVEN THURSDAY, AUGUST 6 OLLANTAYTAMBO MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO Hike to lower Pinkuylluna Ruins 07:30-08:45 - Easy hike to Pinkuylluna, an Inka site with great views of the valley 09:00 - meet the rest of the group at the archeological site in Ollantaytambo Hike to higher Pinkuylluna Ruins 06:30-08:45 - Moderate hike to Pinkuylluna (higher ruins) for even better views 09:00 - meet the rest of the group at the archeological site in Ollantaytambo Optional late breakfast at the hotel and meet at the archeological site for the guided tour at 9 am. Recommended excursion to the Sun Gate. Huayna Picchu Hike (2 hrs) 10:00-12:00 - Guided hike of Huayna Picchu peak and ruins from where you have amazing views of the sanctuary below 14 15
