James. 125 were flown but we have only seen unsigned examples before, scarce signed item RU for 5 months 1932 Imperial Airways Juba, Sudan - Broken Hill, Northern Rhodesia. Good condition with Broken Hill arrival datestamp on reverse, only 7 items of mail were flown on this leg, very rare. ARE for 6 months 1911 South African First Aerial Post with 1d stamp, the Cape Peninsular Flying Fortnight was launched to promote aviation interest and establish a South African flying school. The event ran from the 21st December until January 3rd during which time two aircrafts, a Blériot monoplane and a Paterson biplane, were used for several demonstration flights in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Kimberley, RU for 5 months 1934 New Zealand - Australia on Southern Cross and signed by famous pilot Air Commodore Charles Kingsford-Smith. ARE226R Silver Jubilee George V Rocket Experiment by the Australian Rocket Society with special label and cachet. Route then split to either Jburg or Durban. ARE53A per month for 4 months 1929 London - South Africa, first airmail to South Africa, fantastic illustrated envelope with all 4 low value PUC stamps used, superb. ARK KLM England - Netherlands first flight, our choice. ARI Imperial Airways London - Sudan first air mail, this was a leg of the new UK - Mwanza, Tanganyika line, scarcer yellow illustration ARI Imperial Airways/Tata Sons, London - Madras first flight, extension of the London - Karachi line which stopped at Ahmedabad/ Bombay/Bellary/ Madras, our choice of destination ART England - Canada first flight by the new combined sea and air mail service to Canada via S.S. ARZ for 5 months 1934 LZ127 Graf Zeppelin card flown on the 400th flight with illustration of the 1934 Reichsparteitag N rnberg (Nuremberg Rally), which was annual rally of the Nazi Party. ARZ for 10 months 1912 German airmail postal stationary card with illustration of a zeppelin, uprated with an extra German stamp and a Wiesbaden - Frankfurt Luftpost cancellation, hand addressed to England. ARZ for 5 months 1930 Graf Zeppelin postcard posted on board before being dropped over Orly, France during the flight from Friedrichshafen to England, with red oval flight cachet plus Orly and Paris datestamps. 12 FRONT BACK ARO per month for 5 months 1937 Brisbane - Cape Town cover signed by H B Bonney with purple rectangular My Little Ship II flown cachet. ARA per month for 7 months 1931 USA - France, first commercial trans-atlantic flight, flown on the first leg from New York to Bermuda where it was unloaded, the flight was lost at sea on the next leg to Azores and pilots never found. RU per month for 4 months 1927 Crash Mail, the plane The Pelican was on route from Kisumu, Kenya - Khartoum when it crashed during takeoff from Lake Victoria. The mail was recovered and sent on via normal means and had a special crash cachet added service officially arranged to operate from London but abandoned owing the breakdown of Hydroplane on Lake Victoria. RU per month for 6 months 1936 Imperial Airways G-ABTK Crash Mail. The plane left London for India, Malaya, and Australia but caught fire when taking off from Delhi. The crew and passengers escaped unhurt but the plane was damaged beyond repair and much of the mail was completely destroyed. This example has scorch marks but is largely still intact and has had a crash cachet added received in damaged condition at Auckland RU per month for 6 months 1928 Crash Mail, rare example with crash cachet Rescued at sea from plane abandoned 400 miles from Paris. The mail was aboard the plane which was launched from the SS Ile de France towards France about 70 miles from Cape Lizard with a crew of Pilot Lieutenant Demougeot, Radio Operator Monrouzeau, and Mechanic Petierce. The plane suffered mechanical problems and landed intact on the sea near the Scilly Islands where it drifted until the crew were found safe later that evening.
