1 Crime statistics at a glance: 1/2 1/8 1/9 1/15 Year to Date Robberies Residential Burglaries Commercial Burglaries Vehicle Burglaries Stolen Vehicles When I mention the unit block of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. Notable Cases On Wednesday, at 6:38 p.m., Officer Garay and Officer Perez were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station on Gellert Boulevard on a report of a disturbance over a parking situation in which the victim reported her foot being run over. The victim, a 43-year old Pacifica resident, said she went to the convenience store and parked her vehicle in a marked parking stall when she saw a woman parked on the crosshatch area of a marked disabled stall in front of the store. The victim said she told the subject she was not allowed to park in that location as she was not disabled. The victim said she and the suspect got into a verbal dispute. The victim said she asked the cashier to tell the woman to move, but the manager said due to Shell policy, he was not allowed to deal with any issues in the parking lot and to call the police. The victim took pictures of the subject and her vehicle, and then she said the suspect backed her vehicle and ran over her foot. This case is referred to the District Attorney s Office. On Friday, at 1:26 a.m., Officer Bermudez was on patrol in the area of Mission Street and John Daly Boulevard when he saw a subject cross the intersection against the light. The officer stopped the subject and advised him that Daly City has had multiple auto/pedestrian collisions some due to pedestrians not crossing legally. The suspect apologized for crossing against the light. As the officer was speaking with the subject, he noticed that the subject had clammy wet skin around his facial area, a white film around his mouth and had glassy bloodshot red eyes and dilated pupils. The subject also appeared to be nervous and fidgety. All of these symptoms led Officer Bermudez to believe that the suspect was under the influence of a controlled substance. Officer Wagnon arrived to assist, and when Officer Bermudez was patting down the subject, he felt a hard object in the subject s waistband. The subject said it was a meth pipe. Officer Bermudez asked if the subject had any methamphetamine on him, and the subject said he did and that it was in his pocket. The officers also found multiple pieces of identification not belonging to the subject. They arrested the 25-year old San Francisco resident for being in possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and for identity theft.

2 On Friday, at 11:56 a.m., a 16-year old student at Thornton High School was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for sales and also for being in possession of tobacco. This occurred after a teacher had noticed some unusual behavior with the student. On Friday, at 3:14 p.m., a 40-year old Daly City resident attempted to check her daughter out of Woodrow Wilson Elementary School an hour early when school officials reported the subject was intoxicated. Officer Williams arrested the mother and also is seeking an additional charge of child endangerment based on the totality of the circumstance. On Saturday, at 6:13 p.m., following a traffic stop by Officer Murillo, a 30-year old Vallejo resident was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, committing a felony while out on bail and for driving on a suspended driver's license. This occurred in the parking lot near Celia s Mexican restaurant. The passenger, a 38-year old Vallejo resident, was arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia and for a misdemeanor warrant. On Sunday, at 11:35 a.m., Officer Williams took a report of a brandishing that occurred near the area of Citrus Avenue and Mission Street. The victim said she was driving on Mission Street and Westlake Avenue when she was cut off by a blue vehicle. The victim said she started to honk her horn, and when she was behind the driver at a light, the driver exited his vehicle and produced a knife from inside his jacket and raised it in the air in her direction. The victim, a 23-year old Daly City resident, said the suspect made a slashing motion with his hand and then got back into his vehicle and drove southbound on Mission Street. The victim s cousin, a 16-year old Daly City resident, was in the passenger seat and took a photo of the suspect vehicle. This investigation is continuing. On Sunday, at 1:30 p.m., a 25-year old San Francisco resident gave her mother s name to a police officer when the officer issued her a citation. This occurred subsequent to a traffic stop by Officer Farrar at Allan Street and MacDonald Avenue. The subject was arrested for giving false information, impersonating another and for three outstanding warrants. The subject said she didn t want to go to jail and that is why she used her mother s name. Robberies There were two robberies during the past week. On Wednesday, at 5:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of East Market Street and Orange Court on a report of a male who was robbed via a handgun for a gym bag. The victim, a 28-year old Brisbane resident, said he was in his car on the way to work when he stopped at a stop sign, a subject ran in front of his vehicle, slapped on the hood and yelled for him to stop. The victim was startled and thought he may have hit the male. The victim said the male then walked to him on the driver s side and pointed a black handgun at him and demanded his wallet. The victim said he didn t have his wallet, and the suspect demanded the victim s gym bag that was on the passenger seat. The victim gave the suspect the bag, which contained a wallet, miscellaneous credit cards and identification cards, miscellaneous clothing and a showering kit. The victim provided a description of the subject. Realizing that a group home for young men was nearby the area, the officers decided to check the home for the suspect and located him. The 19-year old suspect initially denied committing the crime, but surveillance footage showed the suspect threw the victim s bag over a nearby fence. The suspect became combative with the officers and threatened to beat up one of the officers when he saw him on the streets after his release from jail. The suspect was booked into jail for robbery, obstructing a police officer in the course of his/her duties and for exhibiting a firearm. The victim was unharmed. On Saturday, at 4:00 p.m., a 51-year old owner of a pet supply business on Geneva Avenue was the victim of a robbery by an unknown suspect who hit him with the bag she was carrying after being confronted for shoplifting. The suspect is described as a black female adult wearing a green coat and black pants. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

3 Residential Burglaries There was one residential burglary during the past week. On Saturday, at 5:00 p.m. and Monday, at 11:00 a.m., an unknown suspect broke the rear window of a residence on the 500 block of Skyline Drive. Nothing was taken. (The victim had not yet moved into the residence. Commercial Burglaries There was one commercial burglary during the past week. On Friday, at 9:54 a.m., an unknown suspect walked into unsecured door of a closed restaurant on the 1900 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard and took an Amazon delivery box from behind the cashier desk at the front of the restaurant. Surveillance footage caught an image of this suspect, and investigators are working on this. Vehicle Burglaries There were seven vehicle burglaries during the past week. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot (unknown which one) a baby bag was taken from a 2015 Buick Enclave. The third window on the driver s side was smashed. Occurred on between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. **On-line report. Parking garage at 1851 Junipero Serra Boulevard (4 th floor) nothing was taken from a 2016 VW GTI. The front passenger window was smashed. Occurred on between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Parking garage at 1851 Junipero Serra Boulevard (4 th floor) a backpack was taken from the center console and a bag containing cash was taken from the trunk of a 2015 Honda Odyssey. The left front window was smashed. Occurred on between 12:35 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Parking garage at 1851 Junipero Serra Boulevard (4 th floor) a basket of food items was taken from the rear cargo area of a 2012 Toyota Sienna. The rear cargo window was smashed. Occurred on between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Westlake Shopping Center parking lot near Jamba Juice a gym bag was taken from the rear seat of a 2016 BMW X5. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 7:30 p.m. and 7:39 p.m. Westlake Shopping Center near Panda Express a Swissgear backpack was taken from a 2011 Lexus IS350. A window was smashed. Occurred on between 11:00 a.m. and 8:50 p.m. Unit block of Avalon Drive a dash camera and a wallet containing a driver's license was taken from a 2016 Toyota Prius. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 2:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Stolen Vehicles There was one vehicle stolen during the past week. It was recovered. 100 block of San Diego Avenue a 1989 Honda Prelude. Occurred on between midnight and 7:00 a.m. **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on

4 Miscellaneous There were four hit and run crashes We responded to 12 domestic disturbance cases There were 16 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold We made 5 warrant arrests There were 3 DUI arrests Scams/Other Nothing to report Community Events/Information Sandbags Available During Storms Sandbags are available for residents at the Department of Water and Wastewater Resources located at 153 Lake Merced Boulevard. (24 hours/7 days a week) and at the Public Works Corporation Yard located at 798 Niantic Avenue Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Residents are limited to 10 sandbags. Christmas Tree Recycling Christmas tree recycling collection is available on regular service days. Republic Services (formerly Allied Waste Services) requests that you please follow these collection guidelines when placing your tree out for collection: Trees must be cut into 4 foot sections. The stands, lights and decorations must be removed. Flocked trees will be collected but not recycled. Multi-family residents must call Customer Service at (650) to arrange for pick-up. Place trees next to yard waste bin for removal. After January 31, please cut your tree in pieces to fit into your green waste collection bin. Jefferson High School 10 th Annual Crab Feed January 28 th Come support the Jefferson High School Athletic boosters at their 10 th annual crab fed. The feed is on Saturday, January 28 th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Pacelli Gymnasium at 145 Lake Merced Boulevard. Tickets are $60 and $20 for children There will be a silent auction, raffles and entertainment by the JHS Polynesian Club and also a live band. Contact the Jefferson High School for tickets.
