Notable Cases On Monday, at approximately 6:36 p.m., Officer Cain was on patrol in the Westlake Shopping Center area and saw two subjects who were walking and staring at the officer and looking away. He conducted a pedestrian stop to speak with them and noticed the male subject was nervous. Officer Todaro arrived to assist the officer, and the male subject, a 38-year old Richmond resident, was subsequently arrested for giving a false name to a police officer, for being an escaped prisoner, being a felon in possession of a firearm and for several outstanding warrants. The female subject, a 23 year old San Francisco resident, was arrested for giving a false name to a police officer, possession of a switchblade, misappropriation of lost or stolen property (credit cards), possession of illegal narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prescription medication without a prescription, and for committing a felony while on bail. On Tuesday, at approximately 10:00 p.m., an on-duty firefighter saw a subject set off illegal fireworks in an unsafe manner near a fire engine. The firefighter saw the subject then run into a residence on the unit block of Bel Mar Avenue. The 22-year old subject was cited for the offense. On Wednesday, at approximately 4:53 p.m., Officer Castillo was dispatched to the carport area of 2 Coronado Avenue on a report of a male subject using a needle. Officer Cabatic located the subject in the parking lot of Home Depot and asked the subject where the needle was in order to make sure no one would get hurt by picking it up if it was infected with anything. The subject said he wasn t sure and that he had dumped it somewhere. The 25-year old transient subject admitted to shooting up heroin. He was cited for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and warned not to trespass at the apartments or shopping center. On Thursday, at 5:00 p.m., Officer McCarthy and Officer Clinkscales were working a plain clothes auto burglary detail at Serramonte Shopping Center and approached a subject in an older model blue GMC Yukon who caught their attention because the subject was looking from side to side,

2 as if he was looking to see if anyone was watching him. When Officer McCarthy walked up to the open right front passenger window, he saw the subject holding his erect penis in his hand and was masturbating. The said, Hello through the open window, and he said the subject quickly tried to put his penis back into his pants and said he was only trying to pee in a cup. The subject, a 44-year old San Francisco resident, was on probation for indecent exposure in San Francisco and was also a convicted sex registrant. He was arrested for indecent exposure. On Thursday, at approximately 7:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on the unit block of Vista Grande Avenue on a report of a possible residential burglary in progress. The reporting party said a male subject was kicking the front door, garage door and window. Officers found a subject nearby who matched the description of the subject. The officer saw the subject was sweating profusely and that he was yelling that he lost his 6-year old daughter. Officers searched the subject s pants pocket and located numerous catsup packets, napkins, straws, and a case that contained Xanax pills. Officer Cabatic asked the subject where he was coming from, and the subject said he was picking up his daughter at school and were walking home before he lost her. The officer asked the subject where the school was, and he said South San Francisco. The subject was surprised when the officer told him he was in Daly City. The officer contacted the subject s wife who confirmed their daughter was safe. Prior to bringing the subject, a 40-year old South San Francisco resident, to jail, officers transported the subject to the County hospital for treatment. A complaint is sought for possession of controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and for vandalism. On Friday, at 5:53 p.m., Officer Clinkscales was dispatched to a report of a subject who exposed himself near the Taco Bell on Mission Street. The reporting party said the subject had boarded the Sam Trans bus northbound on Mission Street. Officer Clinkscales located the subject on the bus, and the reporting party made a positive identification of the subject and was willing to sign a citizen s arrest form. The subject, a 38-year old San Francisco resident, was then cited for indecent exposure. On Sunday, at approximately 12:45 a.m., two 27-year old Daly City residents were arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after officers responded to a residence on the 300 block of Winchester Street on the report of loud music and loud partying. On Sunday, at 10:30 a.m., subsequent to a check on subjects in a parked vehicle on the 5900 block of Mission Street, Officer McCarthy arrested the subject in the driver s seat, a 28-year old Pacifica resident, for possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia and for being in possession of stolen property. The second subject, a 23-year old San Francisco resident, was cited for being in possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia. On Monday, at 11:24 p.m., Officer Collins conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with four occupants at the intersection of East Market Street and Hillside Boulevard. The officer observed the driver s movements were suspicious as he contacted him. The driver, a 19-year old Oakland resident, told the officer he was pulled over by the CHP earlier in the day and that his driver's license was suspended. Officer Collins asked the driver for consent to search the vehicle, and the driver gave consent. The officer noticed that the center console behind the front right passenger floorboard was loose, pulled the panel open and saw the handle of a small gun. The subject was subsequently arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, being a convicted felon carrying a firearm in a vehicle in a public place and for driving with a suspended driver's license. Robberies There was one robbery during the past week. On Saturday, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a clerk at the Dollar Store on Mission Street was pushed by a subject when she tried to detain a person who shoplifted peanut butter, jelly and

3 chocolate frosting. Officer Clinkscales and Officer Taylor located the 25-year old transient subject on a bus and arrested him for robbery. A charge for giving false identity to a peace officer was added after jail staff determined the suspect s true identity. The 46-year old clerk did not suffer any injuries. Residential Burglaries There was one residential burglary and one attempted residential burglary during the past week. On Tuesday, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., an unknown subject pried the front door to an apartment on the 400 block of Talbert Street and stole jewelry, electronics and cash. On Monday, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a residence on the 4300 block of Callan Boulevard was the victim of an attempted residential burglary by an unknown subject who shattered the rear sliding glass door. No entry was made. Commercial Burglaries There was one commercial burglary during the past week. Between 5:30 p.m. on and 6:20 a.m. on , an unknown subject pried the rear door to a business on the second floor of 455 Hickey Boulevard and stole three tablets. Vehicle Burglaries There were three vehicle burglaries during the past week. Outback restaurant parking lot luggage and backpacks containing an ipad, eyeglasses, a jacket, headphones and a German passport were taken from a 2017 Jeep Patriot. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. 200 block of Wellington Avenue a duffel bag containing Canadian currency was taken from the trunk of a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 3:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. **On-line report made. Near Northridge Park a bag containing a wallet with currency, credit cards, a social security card, and a driver's license was taken from the trunk of a 1994 Honda Civic. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred between 10:00 a.m. on and 9:00 a.m. on **On-line report made. Stolen Vehicles There were three vehicles stolen during the past week. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near Dave & Busters a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Occurred on between 7:45 p.m. and 10:04 p.m. 200 block of Polaris Way a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. Occurred between 10:00 p.m. on and 5:00 a.m. on Parking garage (3 rd floor) at 1901 Junipero Serra Boulevard a 1997 Ford Explorer. Occurred on between 7:20 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
