3 Welcome Dear Colleagues, On behalf of B. Braun Medical Ltd here in the United Kingdom, we would like to welcome you all to a weekend in London, one of the world s great capital Cities. This weekend s busy programme has essentially been built around two topics. Primarily the completion and highlight of the B.Braun Foundation Mentoring Programme. As we come to the close of our 8 month advanced training initiative, we look forward to listening to your business concept presentations describing health care provision. Secondly, and as equally important, there will be the unique opportunity for you to experience and gain an insight into many of the day to day challenges faced by clinicians in one of London s leading Teaching Hospitals, which we are sure you will find very informative and thought provoking. Our evening event programme provides a mix of scientific education, up to date comment on contemporary health care issues and a visit to one of London s most iconic historical palaces which will be a fascinating experience. London has a long and rich heritage of scientific research and discovery and is an ideal setting for this important event. It of course offers much, much more... from its historical museums, art galleries, palaces and theatres, to the specialist markets and boutiques and the vast array of open spaces and parkland. London seems to have something for everyone and we hope that even with this weekend s busy programme, you find the opportunity to glimpse just some of what this great City has to offer. We do hope you have both an enjoyable and inspiring visit to our capital. Should you have any questions or particular requirements throughout your stay, please don t hesitate to speak with one of our events team who will be on hand throughout the weekend to provide help and support. 8 Useful Information UK Event Contact Adele Mercer Office Mobile Name Badges Name badges will be provided upon registration. Please wear these badges throughout the weekend events, particularly at the Tower of London as this will act as your entry pass to the venue. Hotel Check-in Check-out Breakfast Bedrooms will be available for check-in from 3.00pm but luggage can be stored with the Concierge in the Lobby area. Bedrooms must be vacated by 12.00pm on the Sunday to avoid incurring late check-out fees Breakfast is served daily from to 11.30am in the Fiamma restaurant Royal College of Surgeons of England Dress code No formal dress code although advise business suits for the gentlemen (tie optional) and cocktail dresses/trousers for the ladies. Tower of London The Ceremony of the Keys is the traditional locking up of the Tower of London and has taken place on each and every night, without fail, for at least 700 years. The formality of the programme means the group must meet the strict timings so it is very important that delegates arrive on time to leave the hotel. Some areas of the Tower also date back to the 10th Century and there are many uneven cobbled areas to cross and some steps to climb. Female guests may therefore wish to wear a more comfortable shoe rather than high pointed heels, although this is optional. Dress code Gentlemen must wear a tie to dinner, no jeans or t-shirts permitted. Part of the ceremony will take place outside so it is advisable for guests to wear a warm coat. Dietary Allergies It would be most helpful if you could inform the Events Team as soon as possible if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements. Please adele.mercer@bbraun.com detailing any special needs so that the necessary arrangements can be made in advance of your arrival.
