2 Introduction The title of this year s conference started off as a wry comment on how we could follow up on 2010 s Let s get personal. But as the year unfolds and the realities of policy change and the comprehensive spending review kick in it seems very apt! Many of you have been experiencing very difficult times at work, with cuts to services and jobs and a great deal of uncertainty about funding and policy direction - particularly with key pieces of legislation on pause. How can we best support each other to maintain and develop good practice in housing? What do we need to know to prepare ourselves for the challenges ahead? What new and emerging opportunities might there be for promoting the work we do and for improving the provision of accessible and adaptable housing? We will be having an update from COT on commissioning priorities and political influencing and will be looking at some of the different models of service delivery underway, or being proposed, in a number of regions across the UK. We will also be holding our AGM and presenting an exciting update on the Housing Adaptation Genome Project. 6 Conference Venue This years conference will be held at the College of Occupational Therapists Headquarters, London. COT HQ is easily reached from most mainline rail stations and London airports. London Bridge (approx. 5 mins) Leave through the Borough High Street exit. Paddington (approx. 40 mins) Take the southbound Bakerloo Line to Baker Street and change to the southbound Jubilee Line to London Bridge OR take the southbound Bakerloo to Elephant & Castle and then the northbound Northern Line to either Borough or London Bridge Stations. Both are 5 minutes walk to the College. Marylebone (approx. 30 mins) Directions are the same as above. Charing Cross (approx. 20 mins) Take the Northern Line to Waterloo and change onto the the Jubilee Line eastbound to London Bridge. There is also an overground train direct to London Bridge Euston (approx. 30 mins) Take the Northern Line (Bank Branch) down to either London Bridge or Borough Stations. Liverpool Street (approx. 25 mins) Take the Central Line to Bank and change onto the southbound Bank branch of the Northern Line to London Bridge or the 133 bus which stops directly adjacent to the College. Waterloo (approx.10 mins) Take the eastbound Jubilee Line to London Bridge and exit onto Borough High Street. An overground train also runs to London Bridge. Victoria (approx. 15 mins) Take the eastbound Circle & District Line to Westminster Station and change onto the eastbound Jubilee Line to London Bridge. 6
