The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is a professional membership organisation representing 30,000 members worldwide working in hospitals and the community across 30 different medical specialties. We work to ensure that physicians are educated and trained to provide high-quality care and support our members at each career stage with a full programme of education and CPD events. The RCP annual conference is our flagship annual event and now in its second year. It was developed in response to member demand for such an event and is fast becoming the must-attend annual event for doctors from all medical specialities and a voice for the profession. The conference provides high-quality education and CPD; presents the latest cutting edge research; showcases leading national and international speakers; and offers a platform to influence government and decision-makers. The conference s content is put together through a call for programme ideas to our membership, so provides a programme for physicians, built by physicians. In 2016, the conference will not be limited by a theme so that delegates can discuss the issues relevant to them. The 2016 conference will incorporate the new RCP Excellence in patient care awards and delegates will be able to celebrate the profession s achievements through an awards ceremony and dinner.
