2 Travel to Milano Milano is provided with efficient transport connections that make the city easy to reach. By plane Milano is served by three different airports: Milano Linate, Milano Malpensa and Orio al Serio. a) Milano Linate airport is the closest to the city centre, located just 9 km from the Central Station, and it is an important hub for both national and international flights. Once landed in Linate it is possible to choose several options to get to the city centre: By car: you can opt for car rental service or car sharing. The airport is in viale Forlanini, 10 minutes far from the city centre. By bus: Duomo bus stop (at the core of the city centre) can easily be reached in 20 minutes by bus n.73. First journey: Last journey: Buses run every 10 minutes throughout the day, every day. Ticket price: 1.5 Private shuttle bus services are available at Linate to connect the air terminal to the Central Station or to other destinations in the city centre: STARFLY Air Pullman By taxi: the taxi ranks can be found at ARRIVALS, ground floor, exit 5. b) Milano Malpensa airport, 48 km far from the city centre, is the largest (and most important in terms of number of flights) airport in Northern Italy. Thanks to the good connections, the city is reachable in less than 30 minutes. By car: the journey from Malpensa to Milano by car takes less than an hour, you will find car rental services at the airport. By train: MALPENSA EXPRESS. 146 trains a day, between 4:27 and 00:20 Milano Cadorna Malpensa Terminal 1 and 2 Approximately every 30 minutes in both directions. Journey time: 29 minutes. Journey with intermediary stops at Milano Bovisa, Saronno and Busto Arsizio. Journey time: 36 minutes. Milano Centrale Malpensa Terminal 1 & 2 Journey with stops at Milano P.ta Garibaldi and Milano Bovisa. Journey time: 43 minutes. Journey with stops at Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Bovisa, Saronno, Rescaldina, Castellanza, Busto Arsizio, Ferno - Lonate Pozzolo. Journey time: 52 minutes. By bus: Shuttle services that link with Central Station, where you will also find the underground station. Taxi stands can be found at ARRIVALS, ground floor, exit 6 in Terminal 1 and exit 4 in Terminal 2. By car: via Milano-Venezia motorway, using a rental service, it takes less than an hour. Milano is easily reachable by car not only from Italian regions and cities, but also from other nations, for example Swiss and French borders are just a few hour drive away. Anyway, we would like to remind you that during weekdays the car access to the city centre is allowed only upon payment of a ticket. 4 Getting around By public transportation Public transportation is one of the easiest and fastest ways to get around in Milano. The city is provided with 4 underground lines, numerous bus and trams lines, the latter of which can be considered as one of the symbols of Milano. 5 etaxi Taxi Malpensa Car sharing Considering the existence of a congestion charge intended to reduce the number of cars entering the city centre area, it is advisable to use a car sharing service. 7 Event venues Fabbrica del Vapore, via Giulio Cesare Procaccini 4 - Milan by underground line M5 (also known as Lilac line), through Cenisio station Fabbrica del Vapore is a former industrial site converted into a space for performing arts and culture. The building, a remarkable example of late 19 th century industrial architecture, now belongs to the Municipality, that is transforming it in a fundamental hub for Milano s cultural life. Fabbrica del Vapore hosts temporary cultural exhibitions and, after a public call, has become a base for many associations and enterprises working in the field of arts. The Museum of Cultures, built on the site of the old Ansaldo factory, displays the municipal collections of ethnographic material and it is a meeting place for cultures and communities.

8 The dinner on 7 th November will be hosted by MUDEC, the Museum of Cultures, in via Tortona 56. Before the dinner, guests will have the possibility to have a guided tour of the permanent collection of the museum. The Museum of Cultures, built on the site of the old Ansaldo factory, displays the municipal collections of ethnographic material and it is a meeting place for cultures and communities. The complex comprises different spaces to offer visitors and the city a whole range of cultural events and facilities. It is located in the Tortona district, roughly 7km from the city centre, and can easily be reached by car or public transportation (the nearest underground station is Green line s Porta Genova ). The Nuvola (cloud) is the most distinctive part of the museum, designed by the famous architect Chipperfield. The idea underlying the design was to use the connecting spaces between the new blocks to create a covered plaza. Its unique character makes it the ideal place for events such as dinners. 8
