4 TEAM REQUIREMENTS Once your team has earned their birth to the Provincial Championships (congratulations!), we require the following: Official Team Picture Ensure the quality of the picture is good as we will be using it in our program and any other tournament related print material. Please list the names of the players, in the order as they appear in the team picture. Please picture to Karen Dawydiak Association Logo Send a jpg image of your association logo and your home and away jersey colours. Please association logo image to Karen Dawydiak (blueapple@shaw.ca) Contact Information* We will require the following: a) Association Information (address, phone number and website) b) Head Coach Information (name, home/cell phone number and address) c) Manager Information (name, home/cell phone number and address) Scouting Package Information* We will be making a Scouting Information Package that will list all the teams and players. Personal information such as player s height, weight, position, R/L shot, D.O.B., parent s name and coach/manager contact information will be included. BC Hockey Championships Tournament Clothing Order* we require all teams to preorder their requests for tournament clothing and apparel Accommodations* (see page 5 for Host Hotels) We will need to know where you are staying * We will send you an information sheet(s) to fill out, that will contain all this information 4

5 ITINERARY AND GENERAL INFORMATION Saturday, March 6 Sunday, March 7 Thursday, March 11 Travel Day Banquet/Coach/Manager Meeting Opening Ceremonies Round robin play begins Round robin play ends Championship Game/Closing Ceremonies Tournament Banquet The tournament banquet will be held on Saturday March 6 at the Richmond Golf and Country Club. The banquet will run from 6:00 8:00 pm. This is a free event for players, coaches and managers (no parents unless they are coaches or managers). All teams are expected to attend Coach-Manager Meeting This is a mandatory meeting for all coaches and managers. It will take place following the conclusion of the Tournament Banquet at the Richmond Golf and Country Club Team Host/Hostesses All out of town teams will be assigned a team host/hostess. He/She will be available to answer any of your questions Tournament Admission This is a free event. There will be no admission charge to watch the games /Raffle Because we are offering a free tournament banquet (other Provincial Championship Hosts are charging $ 25.00/person) and free admission to the games, we would hope that all persons attending the games, generously support our 50/50 and raffle, to help offset these expenses. BC Hockey Championship Tournament Clothing We will be offering BC Hockey Championship clothing for sale to the teams and the general public. Clothing will include: Short sleeved t-shirts Golf shirts Shorts Hoodies All teams must pre-order using the attached Order Form 5

ABOUT RICHMOND Richmond is a culturally diverse and geographically unique community located within Metropolitan Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is 20-25 minutes north of Richmond.

13 ABOUT RICHMOND Richmond is a culturally diverse and geographically unique community located within Metropolitan Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is minutes north of Richmond. Incorporated in 1879, it is a unique island city within the Fraser river delta. The population is 188,000. Richmond has been experiencing growth and change with remarkable speed, transforming from a rural, local community to an international city with a balance of urban, suburban family and rural areas. The continuing development of the city's downtown core and the construction of the Canada Line rapid transit system and the Richmond Olympic Oval for the 2010 Winter Games, ensures that Richmond's transformation is ongoing. The Vancouver International Airport is located within Richmond and minutes from central Richmond. In August 2009 the Canada Line, a rapid transit system was completed. It connects Richmond with downtown Vancouver in 25 minutes. During the peak day and early evening it operates every 8 minutes. Clearly this is the easiest and most hassle-free way to go downtown. Getting around Richmond dating back to its farming heritage the city s road network is oriented North-South and East-West, with the major North-South roads being named No.1 Road (furthest to the west) to No.6 Road adjacent to the Richmond Ice Centre. A major freeway (Highway 99) bisects Richmond connecting the U.S. Border and Delta with Vancouver. 13
