2 Welcome 2 On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I d like to extend a warm welcome to Canadian Museums Association Conference delegates. Yukon has a strong and vibrant cultural community that is constantly evolving. The territory s many museums, cultural and interpretive centres, art galleries and other cultural spaces interpret our stories, engage audiences and preserve our cultural legacies. More and more, our museums are working with other organizations to explore new ways to engage with the community. The conference is a great opportunity to exchange ideas on exciting and innovative cultural collaborations happening here in Yukon and around the world. Yukon government is proud to support our cultural spaces, our dedicated heritage professionals and the many community projects led by museums and their partners. I wish you a successful conference and a wonderful stay in Yukon. Welcome to the Canadian Museums Association 66 th annual conference! The Department of Tourism and Culture is pleased to be part of the conference being held in Yukon and North of 60 for the second time. Yukon s fascinating history and vibrant culture are part of what bring people to the territory. Yukon museums are the places that bring our stories to life and preserve our irreplaceable heritage. During your visit I invite you to take in some of the exceptional activities that conference organizers have planned. The study tours to Kluane, Teslin, the Klondike and Carcross and the White Pass and Yukon Route provide unique opportunities to see some of our finest cultural and natural wonders. In Whitehorse, be sure to attend the evening events which highlight the city s art, culture and heritage, and feature some of our finest Yukon hospitality. Thank you for joining us and I wish you a Larger Than Life conference experience. Best regards, Darrell Pasloski Premier Mike Nixon Minister of Tourism and Culture
