What is the Otario Electrical Safety Code (Code)? The Code is a Otario regulatio that establishes safety stadards for the istallatio ad maiteace of electrical equipmet. It is primarily a techical documet, prescriptive i approach. Revisios to the Code are made through a broad cosultative process at both the provicial ad atioal level, ad through the collaboratio of regulatory authorities across Caada (icludig Otario) ad safety parters. 2. Why is there a ew Code? The Otario Electrical Safety Code icludes chages to the Caadia Electrical Code (CEC) ad Otario-specific amedmets. Major chages made to the 2015 CEC warrated a update of the Otario Code. The collaborative efforts of regulatory authorities across Caada (icludig Otario) ad safety parters produce this ew editio of the Code to reflect chages i techology ad the marketplace, feedback from stakeholders, techical reviews ad ew safety isights. 3.
