6 THE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY OF MUSKOKA 7a MOVED BY: SECONDED BY: THAT the Township of Severn be advised that The District Municipality of Muskoka supports, in principle, the option of extending water and sewer services from the community of Port Severn in the Township of Georgian Bay to the community of Port Severn in the Township of Severn; AND THAT the Township of Severn (the Township) be advised that should this option be pursued, as a minimum, the District will require an agreement with the Township confirming that 1) all expenses associated with the extension of the services, including the costs of replacing capacity within the District's treatment plants, pumping stations, etc" will be met in full by the Township; 2) the ongoing costs of producing and supplying potable water to, and receiving and processing wastewater from the Township will be met in full by the Township; 3) all construction undertaken in Muskoka will meet the requirements of the District as well as those of the Township of Georgian Bay; and 4) the Township of Severn will adopt such policies and construction standards, and enact and enforce such by-laws as necessary to ensure that the District is not required to make improvements to its systems to address problems occurring within the Township such as excessive water loss, improper sewer use, etc" Chair
