1 MORRIS GARAGES INFORMER Volume 37, Number 4 It s Gotta Be Fun April 2017 Sun and Fun Fly-In By Bruce Rauch Four FSMGCC members took an early morning ride to participate in the Lakeland Linder Airport Sun 'n Fun 43rd International Fly-In Expo and Car Show. The car display had 150 cars of all varieties including ours. We could sit by our cars on a long very cool and sunny day to watch the air show, with a thrilling finale performance by the Navy Blue Angels. Florida Suncoast MG Car Club Meeting Minutes Summary March 25, 2017, Clearwater Country Club President Glenn Lenhard called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m. and welcomed guest speaker, Dave Cox. The Secretary's Report and the Treasurer s Report were approved as presented. Vice-President Ted Badger reported that the Club currently has 40 family/members. He plans to contact those 2016 Members who have not yet renewed for Barrie Carson, Regalia contact, brought in Club hats for $15 to the meeting and reminded Members to check out the Club s regalia website, place your order, and he will deliver the item(s) when they come in. Dora. We know Bill & Carol from former Jamborees. Carol is Chairman of NAMGAR. a card has been sent to the family. Suzy Maxon is home recovering from an auto accident (no, not in the MGTF!) No bones broken, but lots of pain. Cindy Brown is home rehabbing from a total hip replacement. Susanne MacNamee is home with non-weightbearing restrictions following foot surgery. Past Activities: March 4: Several Members and guests attended the European Car Show with a diverse group of British cars. The show was in Pass-a-Grille, benefitting The Gulf Beaches Historical Museum. Everyone enjoyed the event. The Club received a Thank You note from the museum. Future Activities: A COMPLETE LIST IS IN THE NEWSLETTER Bruce requested Members to contact him or Gail with event ideas. He reiterated that this Club is for all of us from all of us not for all of us from some of us. Fellowship: Bill Shamonsky, husband of NAMGAR s Chairman, Carol Shamonsky, passed away in Mt. Dora on March 24th. A memorial service will be held on April 11 in Mt. Dora. Suzy Maxon is in a world of hurt following a car accident but she has no broken bones. A couple of Members will be having surgeries in the near future: Cindy Brown will be receiving a new hip and Susanne MacNamee will be having a foot operation. Lorraine Spicer & Barrie Carson recently returned from an exciting whale encounter in Baja, Mexico. 2

3 Ted & Marilyn Badger had a wonderful time in New Orleans visiting with some of Marilyn s friends. Dave & Susanne MacNamee went to the Amelia Island Concours d Elegance. There were only three MGs in the show. In early April, Jeff and Jan Zorn will be traveling to a National MG meet in Australia where he will be an MGA judge. Newsletter Dennis Magee wants articles by April 7th. He is requesting articles/or pictures of past events and/or stories of interest. Meeting Speakers: Please contact Gail Lenhard or Bruce Rauch if you would like to make a presentation at any future meeting. MG Jamboree 21: Gail has contacted Alan McHale of the Celtic Music & Craft Beer Festival about our 2018 Jamboree event joining theirs, which will be November 16 17, He stated that there would be free parking & admission to display our cars at the event on Saturday; with the gates opening at 11:00 a.m. Alan said he would be willing to come and speak at one of our meetings about the event. We need to further explore hotels in the area. Both in excellent condition. They only have about 100 miles on them since a through inspection and tune-up by Glenn. Transmission is only missing the shifter assembly and engine is only missing the alternator. I also have almost all the extra environmental/smog stuff, including (since this is from a California car) the very hard to get California catalytic converter. My price is the best deal I can get.
