1 It s Gotta Be Fun MORRIS GARAGES INFORMER The Official Newsletter of the Florida Suncoast MG Car Club VOLUME 22, NUMBER 12 December 2017 Lined up and ready to roll! Everyone LOVES a Parade By Gail Lenhard Ted & Mac in Santa Bruce Rauch and Lady Kenmore Saturday, December 2 nd started out sunny and cool but warmed up nicely by the time the Saint Petersburg Santa Parade began. For the first time, the City had all parade participants go through a checkpoint with police dogs and police officers with mirrors scanning the vehicles and the people. Our group consisted of one MGA, four MGBs, and one Triumph TR6 all decked out in Christmas finery. FSMGCC members were: Ted Badger & McLane (Mac), Lorraine Spicer & Barrie Carson, Andrew Forrester & Heather Turner, Gail & Glenn Lenhard, Nancy & John Nick, Bert & Bruce Rauch. Once our cars were decorated, we all went to the Dome Restaurant for breakfast. The parade started promptly and by 10:30 a.m. we were in line and driving along Central Avenue. Bert got out of the car and took several pictures before hopping back into her Lady Kenmore. The crowd was wonderful with lots of children who really appreciated the cars. By 11:15 a.m. we were through, and after taking the decorations off the cars, we headed to the Chattaway Drive-In Restaurant where we met up with Jean & Derek Kirby and Stella & Walter Bumby for lunch. Nancy & John s daughter, Tiffany, and son-in-law Corey Chechak stopped by with their new six week old baby girl Alielle. When the server, Josh, took our drink orders, he came back with a bowl of water for Mac who then settled down between the two picnic tables. (Mac is Ted s Springer spaniel.) The food was great but the fellowship was priceless. A great time was had by all. (more pictures on page 8) Next Membership Meeting: Saturday, January 27, 2018 Breakfast served from 8:30 a.m. at the Clearwater Country Club, North Betty Lane, Clearwater FL Guest Speakers: Lorraine Spicer & Barrie Carson will show a short video and talk about their trip to Iceland.
