1 Social Time 9:00 Meeting starts at 9: June 2014 Welcoming new members to the Greater 285 Corridor through social & civic activities Volume 25 #15 There are no strangers here, only friends who haven t met. President's Message I joined Conifer Newcomers and Neighbors in the Fall of By January of 2006 I was Chair of Lunch Bunch. I quickly made new plans for this Special Interest Group and changed the name to Touring Lunch Bunch. I Chaired until the Fall of 2014 In February 2006 the Pedal Pushers went on their 1st Monday bicycle ride. I bought a bicycle helmet and some bicycle clothes and joined them. I started at the back of the pack but eventually worked my work forward, enough so I could at least SEE the leader :) I've hiked on Wednesdays all these many years to beautiful vistas, and stepped carefully in Rattlesnake country. On Thursdays I played bridge. Friday's keep me busy, with CN&N General Meetings, Touring Lunch Bunch, an occasional Gourmet Lunch, and Garden Club (loving gardens and imagining.) On 4th Mondays I attended Book Talk with like-minded Book Lovers. Some of the books I read have enhanced my life experiences. I finally got old enough to drink real Wine so go to Wine Tasting. September 2007, I Co-Chaired Hospitality. September 2010, I became Secretary of CN&N. September 2012, I became CN&N President, and have continued to now. For many years, along with Kim Swanson, I've posted Holiday Boutique posters in Tiny Town, Morrison, Idledale, Kittredge, Indian Hills, even a few in Bergen Park, The El Rancho area, and as far away as Golden I helped a few times with Boutique set-up. The Holiday boutique had me Cashiering, Baking, and Shop. Shop. Shopping. I've attend many wonderful Spring Luncheons, as I did this year at The Boettcher Mansion. The point of all this to simply share the many opportunities available to CN&N Members. An added bonus is the endearing friendships I have made. My time as CN&N President is finishing and I am grateful for the support and encouragement I received and the many memories I take with me. I wish us ALL a pleasant summer break. The refreshments for the June meeting are being provided by CN&N and Hospitality Chair Shirley Walters will be bringing them to the meeting.
