The le er reads in part, Mr. John C Ahbrams, a respectable merchant of this place is to leave this for the United states in the beginning of the next week... Mr Abrams promised to post this le er into some post office in the Stares though which you will be likely to receive it... In the le er he fully copies a le er to him from Lionel Smith Governor of Jamaica The le er is from Major John Colthurst, Special Magistrate, Barbados to his son,george Colthurst a very long 3 page le er men ons to feelings that irritate the planters, they provoke hars treatment to the N***rs and defeat the very object of their... the protec on of the oppressed and... interest of master and servent, plus another le er transcrbed from Sir Evan Murray MacGregor, Government house, thanking him for his service and the delicate work of magistrate. The le er is fianlly cross writen sta ng Mr. Abrahams intends to go to Montreal and men ons taking a son to Halifax, NS which suggests how the le er travelled (Barbados - Halifax - Montreal where placed in the postal stream to Quebec.
