17 Item Letter from Thomas Horner 1834, stampless folded letter from York UC paid 11d to Gananoque. The letter is from Thomas Horner MPP, first settler in Burford Twp, Horner Creek was named after him, he was Magistrate at Burford and represented Burford Twp from 1820 to 1834 as Member of the Provincial Parliament. Transcript of the letter accompanies. The Bakers were part of the McDonald and Stone Family of Gananoque. $ SOLD

24 Item Assortment of better postmarks - Small Queens, with a 1c dated March 1870 (early date), some straightline REGISTERED, FREE (in different fonts), WAY LETTER, TOO LATE, PAID, oval Toronto 5 parcel, fancy letter "K", "21" in circle, part of a large RPO, a "P" in grid (Lacelle deleted #D348), a "C" in grid from House of Commons, etc. A nice quality lot, with 22 stamps in all (1c to 10c). $300.00

26 Item Advanced Collection of First Cents Issues - With all used stamps. Starts with the 1 (4 different stamps). The 2 is represented by the two major shades. The 5 (6 different stamps, including a major re-entry, plus 3 extra copies). The 10 is well represented, with 20 mostly different stamps, including a chocolate brown (#16i, with clipped perfs, not counted) and most are identified as per printing orders. The 12½ has 4 different stamps, including two with jumbo margins. The 17 has four different stamps. All the stamps are identified as different as per perforations, papers, shades or varieties, and are overall fine with a few faults. We note a few better postmarks, including some dated. A nice collection which can form a strong basis for continuation. Cat Val: $5, Price $ SOLD
