2 A is For Alberta Alberta is one of the only provinces in Canada with 2 NHL teams. Edmonton, the capital of Alberta is the home of the West Edmonton Mall, which is the largest shopping mall in North America. The city of Calgary (Home of the Calgary Flames) holds the annual Calgary Stamped, which was first held in So if you like rodeos, Calgary is the place to go! B is for British Columbia British Columbia, apart of Western Canada, with the capital of Victoria which was named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. BC also has the worlds largest hockey stick which weights approximately lbs. Vancouver Island is the home to the highest waterfall in Canada, so be sure to take a trip to Vancouver Island!

3 C is for Canada With it s 10 provinces and 3 territories, Canada is the 2 nd largest country. A majority of the country has warm long summers and long cold winters. Canadians like to play a lot of pond hockey, which is because supposedly, Canada has more lakes then the rest of the worlds lakes put together. The majority of Canada's land is surrounded by forest, tundra's and rocky mountains. D is for Doak Town Doak Town, located in Northumberland, New Brunswick was used for growing lumber and was settled in This Canadian village is situated right along the Southwest Mirimachi River. Atlantic Salmon Fishing is a very popular sport in Doak Town. So if you like Salmon, Doak town is the place to go!

4 E is for Edmonton Capital of western province Alberta, as you know Edmonton is the home of the largest shopping mall in North America, West Edmonton Mall which has over 800 stores and services. Edmonton is the home of 1 out of 2 NHL teams in Alberta, Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers played their first season in If you re an Edmonton Oilers Fan come on out to the rogers place. F is for Fort McMurray Surrounded by forest made up with White Birch, White Spruce and more beautiful trees, Fort McMurray is known to have the largest forest fire in Canadian history. The fire effected 12 communities in the area. The city was created by those going into the oil industry in the middle of Athabasca oil sands.

5 G is for Grande Prairie Grande Prairie, surrounded by farmland but along the south is mainly all forest. Grande Prairie is known as Peace River Country. It was named for the large prairies. Did you know? World war 2 saw Canadian Military establish Grande Prairie a long time ago. H is for Hudson Bay Did you know that Hudson bay is the 2 nd largest bay in the world? Hudson Bay is a large body of salt water which comes to square km in northeastern Canada. That includes provinces across Canada. The bay is frozen from mid December till mid June with the depth of meters.

6 I is for Iqaluit Capital of Nunavut, Iqaluit is a traditional fishing place. In the city of Iqaluit, they do not use traffic signals. They use stop signs to control inter sections. With Cold and short summers, the climate prevents the growth of trees. J is for Jasper Jasper, located in the Canadian rockies of Alberta, within Athabasca river valley. Known for its Nation park, which includes glaciers, thundering water falls, deep canons, and evergreen forest. So be sure to check out Jasper s National Park.

7 K is for Klondike Klondike is a region of Yukon territory in northwest Canada. It was famed because of Klondike Gold Rush. Gold was discovered there on August 16,1896 by local miners. Early gold seekers found it hard to pronounce first nation words so, Klondike was the result of this poor pronousation. It is a very hot and dry in the short summer and extremely cold in the winter which is very long. Furious snow storms will begin in September and intervals until May. Closer to the end of October, ice is formed all over the rivers and the ground is frozen. L is for Lake Louise Lake Louise, has the most beautiful ice rinks in the world. In 1883 the worlds famous hot springs were discovered for great relaxation. The area also has ski resorts which are world famous for light snow and stunning scenery. Lake Louise is a very blue lake, all because of rock flour, which is glacial sediment suspended in water.

8 M is for Manitoba One out of 3 prairie provinces in Canada is in the longitudinal center of Canada. The province of Manitoba covers square km with widely varied landscapes. The first farming area was along the red river where corn and other seed corps were planted. N is for New Brunswick With beautiful nature, New Brunswick is apart of the maritime provinces. The province is known for its rivers, pine forest, mountains, and The Bay of Fundy. The Bay of Fundy is known for its high tides and whale watching. New Brunswick has the second largest city in the Maritimes, St. John. Also if you like to fish, NB has the greatest fishing places.

9 O is for Ottawa Ottawa is the home of the house of parliament. This province is also located by the US border but is the Canadian capital. Ottawa is known for its nature where you can explore the great outdoors. P is for PEI Maritime province, Prince Edward Isand is surrounded by red sands and light houses. The island is lucky to have Cavendish Farms in their area to produce farm fresh potatoes. The island is the only province in Canada with no boundary's. The capital of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown was first found in 1764, so the island must have been around for quite some time now.

10 Q is for Quebec Quebec is the largest province in Canada by area. The province is known to have the oldest grocery stores in North America. Quebec is also known for its old but beautiful churches. Quebec, coming from the Algonquin word Kebec has the meaning of where the river narrows, which is where the province is sat along the St Lawrence river. R is for Regina Regina and it s beautiful nature is the capital of Saskatchewan. The city has more then hand planted trees. Regina is the Latin word for Queen. In 1882, in honor of Queen Victoria the land was created by her daughter princess Louise.

11 S is for Saskatchewan T is for Toronto Saskatchewan is apart of the western provinces, which are known for the prairies. Saskatchewan s largest city is Saskatoon. This province is the only province without natural borders. The first European to enter the area was in 1690 who traveled up the Saskatchewan River in hopes of trading fur with the provinces indigenous peoples. Toronto is the most popular city in Canada and is the capital of Ontario. Toronto is also the home to the NHL team Toronto Maple Leafs and the MLB s Toronto Blue Jays. The city is a international center of business, finance, arts and culture and is also recognized as one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities in the world.

12 U is for Upper Canada V is for Victoria A not very well known area of Canada, Upper Canada is a village located in Morrisburg Ontario. With the Construction of the village in 1958, which was apart of the St. Lawrence Seaway project, was opened in Victoria is the capital of the province British Columbia, and is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. The city was named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. Victoria is one of the oldest cities in the Pacific Northwest with British settlement in The area was home to the communities of coast Salish Peoples.

13 W is for Winnipeg X marks the spot Winnipeg is the capital and the largest city of Manitoba. The city is named after the nearby lake Winnipeg. The name comes from western Cree words for muddy water. Winnipeg is know to be a multicultural city. This multicultural city hosts numerous annual festivals including the Winnipeg Folk Festival which features folk artist from all over the world. X marks the spot for many things, but this is one special thing. Gold was first discovered in Canada in 1823 along the shores of Rivere Chaudière in the eastern townships of Quebec. In 1858, gold was discovered in the sands of the Fraser river in the interior of BC, starting the Cariboo Gold Rush.

14 Y is for Yukon Yukon is a territory in northwest Canada. The capital of Yukon is white horse. In the north is Ivuavik National Park, with protected calving grounds for porcupine caribou. Yukon is the smallest out of the 3 territories in Canada. Yukon was split from North West territories in 1898 which was when it was renamed Yukon. Z is for Zephyr Ontario? Popular, Zephyr? Not so popular. Zephyr is located in the province of Ontario, but is more in the boonies then in the city. There isn t too much to do but, during the fall you can go to Coopers farm and Corn Maze! In the summer time you can go to the outdoor, well hidden Golf Course.
