6 Box Tops and Pull Tops Just a reminder to continue to save the Box Tops for Robert Taylor Elementary School and the Pull Tops for Ronald McDonald House. Thanks for the many donations at our 4th of August lodge meeting. Suzan Sibert, Box Tops and Pull Tops Committee SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS FOR 2016 In the upcoming months I will be highlighting a 2016 scholarship recipient. Hannah Colarusso wrote on June 25 th, another thank you to the lodge for her scholarship. She has by now attended orientation at University of Nevada at Reno and has completed her final registration for the Fall semester. Hannah's grandmother on her mother's side is 100 percent Norwegian. She was very proud that Hannah applied and was awarded our scholarship. Hannah worked a minimum of 20 hours per week during high school. She needs to continue to work while attending college in Reno. Her major will be psychology. While attending high school she volunteered at Nevada Community Enrichment Program Specializing in Neurological Rehabilitation. We wish Hannah the best as she begins her college education. A special thanks to Erik Pappa and Linda Kristensen for great publicity about the scholarship committee. The photos and article in the August newsletter were great! Suzan Sibert, Vegas Viking Lodge, Scholarship Committee Sunshine: The sun seems to be shining brightly. Our thoughts and prayers are for any and all members and their families who may be infirm or distressed. Tubfrim update July 28 donations were received in the mail for Tubfrim. Many thanks to all of our lodge members who save stamps and those of you that take the time to clip/trim the stamps so neatly. We have been asked for the past couple of years to leave a margin/edge of 1/2 inch around the stamp to secure the stamp from damage. You may recall we do not send damaged stamps to Tubfrim. On August 7th Two boxes of stamps were packed one box at 10 pounds and the other at 6 pounds. May Edmondson continues her stay with family in Minnesota this summer. We look forward to seeing her in the Fall when our weather starts to cool. Many thanks, Suzan Sibert, Tubfrim Committee, Vegas Viking Lodge Membership Notes: Welcome! And Congratulations! Our new members: We are pleased to welcome our newest members Nadeen Archer and Tracy Barkuff. Nadeen is the sister of Maureen Anderson and Tracy is Bob Sturgeon's daughter. It is great to have them with us! Membership awards: Two of our members have achieved the distinction of 45 years with Sons of Norway: Lollo Sievert and Egil Helleborg. Congratulations!
