3 We are very happy to welcome you to the first edition of Mess Around Berlin Swing Dance Festival A very special weekend is waiting for you: four nights with five great live bands, showcases, competitions and two days of workshops with amazing international Lindy Hop teachers. You can dance your shoes off mess around and have the fun of your life. On the following pages, we put together all the information you need to be prepared and enjoy your Mess Around Berlin.

7 WORKS AUDTIONS Auditions will happen on Friday afternoon and this will allow you to sleep more on Saturday. Auditions will be done in two steps. 1ST AUDITION Adv+ to Adv 6:00 pm 6:20 pm 2ND AUDITION Adv to Int/Adv 6:20 pm 7:00 pm i You will get a first wristlet during the check-in! This allows you to attend the auditions. During the auditions, you will receive a second wristlet specific to your group.

9 CLASSES Classes will take place on Saturday & Sunday during the day in three venues not too far from each other. There will be 4 levels. You find yours according to your registration or after the audition on Friday evening. The intermediate level will be split into two groups. The information to which group you belong you will get at the check-in. Couples who registered together will be in the same group. See the detailled schedule at the end of this booklet. TASTERS Great tasters are waiting for you during the weekend. A mixture of local teachers and friends from abroad invite you to share their experience and you ll have the chance to dip into different styles of dancing. Together with the fabulous crew of Peter s Peppers you can train your musicality which will definitedly have an impact of sense for the dance. Check out all details in the party schedule at the end of this booklet.

12 FOOD Close to and Marie Antoinette it is possible to buy some food in Ostbahnhof. The stationhall houses some bakeries and take away bistros. At Jannowitz station there is the bakery called Backwerk and a Kebab place. Crossing the brigde you ll find more restaurants on a moderate price on both sides of the road. Opposite the entrance door of Swing Base Studio-Mitte there is The Greens. It s a cute place where you ll get really good coffee, soups, sandwiches & cakes. CITY TOUR Our wonderful Zoey from Berlin will give a free guided tour incl. dancing through this lovely city. Take the chance! The tour will start at Bärenzwinger in Köllnischer Park on Saturday, 2:00 pm. It will take two hours.

13 GENERAL INFORMATION Public transport is run by the BVG. There is a very good S+U-Bahn infrastructure in Berlin. Have a look at or download the BVG app. Taxis are easy to find everywhere and there is also Uber in Berlin. Public holiday on Friday 08/03 Women Day. We got a new public holiday in Berlin the women day. Be aware that most of the shops are closed on this day. But don t worry you will allways find some Späties/late shops which are open all day where you can buy food, drinks and other things.

14 LOST & FOUND, HELP DESK The lost & found and the help-desk will be where you checked in. SAFETY POLICY You can allways say no at any time. If you get a no take it easy and ask someone else.if you like to dance for another song with a person please ask for it. Be kind to each other on the dancefloor and take care of your surrounding especially when it s crowded.
