1 *All times approximate Poteet High School Band California / Disney Magic Music Days Itinerary May 2-6, 2012 Wednesday, May 2 Everyone arrive early and drop off your luggage and instruments in the band hall by flight group. Flight Group 1 and Flight Group 3 12:45pm Get out of class, get your stuff together, load buses. 1:00pm Depart for DFW International Airport. 2:15pm Arrive at DFW, unload, begin check in procedures. Group 1 (47 passengers) 6:15pm CDT Depart DFW via AA :35pm PDT Arrive Los Angeles International Airport. 8:00pm 1-54 passenger H & L Charter bus pick-up Group 1 and transfer to the hotel. Group 3 (37 passengers) 7:20pm CDT Depart DFW via AA :45pm PDT Arrive Los Angeles International Airport. 9:15pm 2-54 passenger H & L Charter bus pick-up Groups 2 & 3 and transfer to the hotel. Flight Group 2 and Flight Group 4 3:00pm Get out of class, get your stuff together, load buses. 3:15pm Depart for DFW International Airport. 4:30pm Arrive at DFW, unload, begin check in procedures. 2 11:00pm 616 Convention Way Anaheim, CA Curfew for all. Lights out, go to sleep and get some rest! Thursday, May 3 7:00am Breakfast at the hotel (included). Scrambled eggs, Bacon, Breakfast Potatoes, Danish & Muffins, Orange Juice, Coffee, Tea & Decaf. 7:45am Load bus at the hotel and transfer to Disneyland bus parking. You will then take the tram from the Pinnochio and Friends parking lot to Downtown Disney / Resort entry plaza. Today you will have a 1-day Park Hopper Admission to Disneyland and California Adventure. Lunch and dinner (on your own). ***BEFORE WE LEAVE, YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH THE CHAPERON IN CHARGE OF YOUR TOURING GROUP TO SETUP A MEETING PLACE AND TIME DURING THE DAY!!! Arrive at Disneyland, Honors Band Only unload and proceed to park. Today you will have a 1-day Park Hopper Admission to Disneyland and California Adventure (you may go back and forth between the 2 parks). You may also go to Downtown Disney which is located between the two parks (sort of). 8:10am Symponic and Concert Band will stay on the bus and travel backstage to the to meet our Disney Magic Music Days representative. There you will unload with your instruments, uncase, and warm-up for the Magic Music Days performance / clinic instrumental soundtrack workshop. No one is allowed to take pictures with a camera or a cell phone when backstage. Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight while we are backstage. Cell phones or cameras that are seen to be in use backstage will be confiscated by Disney! These are direct instructions from Disney Security. 9:00 to 10:30am Symponic and Concert Band Band Magic Music Days performance / clinic instrumental soundtrack workshop. Once you are done, go back to buses to put up instruments at the bus, then proceed back to the park. You are done! 10:50am Honors Band will meet at the entrance to Toon Town in Disneyland where they will be met by their Disney Magic Music Days representative. They will then be led Backstage to our buses, get their instruments, uncase, and warm-up for their Magic Music Days performance / clinic instrumental soundtrack workshop. No one is allowed to take pictures with a camera or a phone when backstage. Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight while we are backstage. 3 You may want to go out to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping this evening. California Adventure closes at 10:00pm, Disneyland at 9:00pm. Mickey s Soundsational Parade at 4:00pm and 6:30pm along the Parade Route. Fantasmic at 9:00pm at Rivers of America Magical Disney s Fireworks Spectacular at 9:30pm the skies above Disneyland 10:00pm 10:30pm 11:00pm Take the tram from Downtown Disney back to the Pinnochio and Friends parking lot. Load your buses at Disney bus parking and transfer back to the hotel for the evening. Everyone in rooms go to bed..lights out! Friday, May 4 Breakfast at the hotel (included). Scrambles Eggs, Sausage, French Toast, Danish & Muffins, Sliced Seasonal Fresh Fruit, Orange Juice, Coffee, Tea, Decaf. 9:00am 11am-4pm Load buses at the hotel and depart to San Diego to and visit the world famous San Diego Zoo. Time to visit the San Diego Zoo (lunch on your own). Zoo attractions Guided Bus Tour: Enjoy a 35-minute tour on a double-decked bus covering about 75 percent of the San Diego Zoo. Your bus tour ticket also includes use of the Express Bus, double- or single-decked buses with green signs on the sides that allow guests to hop on and off at five different stops throughout the Zoo. The Express buses pass by the stops every 20 minutes or less and are for quick transportation around the Zoo. Bus Tour tickets are included in your admission. Skyfari Aerial Tram: Take an airborne shortcut over the treetops to the other end of the Zoo and enjoy spectacular views of the Zoo, its animal and plant collection, and surrounding Balboa Park. 4:00pm 5:30pm 8:00pm Afterwards take a brief bus tour of San Diego / Coronado Island we ll make a stop at Coronado Municipal Beach (near the Hotel del Coronado) where you will have time to wade in the waters of the Pacific Ocean and play on the beach. You must be DRY and sand free before you re-board the bus. You ll go to Seaport Village and get dinner (on your own). There is a food court area where you can eat inexpensively, as well as several sit-down restaurants priced moderate to expensive. Depart San Diego to return to Anaheim and your hotel. 11:00pm Lights out!

4 Saturday, May 5 7:00am Breakfast at the hotel (included). Variety of Good Morning Breakfast Sandwiches, Breakfast Potatoes, Juice, Fresh Fruit. 8:45am Load buses and transfer to Hollywood and Highland where you will see Grauman s Chinese Theater, the Kodak Theater, the Walk of Stars, the Hollywood sign and much more. Approximate arrival at Hollywood and Highland. 10:30am Load buses and depart to Universal Studios Hollywood. Lunch and dinner (on your own). Approximate arrival at Universal Studios. Spend the day at Universal Studios Hollywood. Spend the day at Universal Studios You will have one meal coupon for lunch in the park. *** YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH THE CHAPERON IN CHARGE OF YOUR TOURING GROUP TO SETUP A MEETING PLACE AND TIME DURING THE DAY!!! Experience Hollywood Universal Studios Hollywood Get inside the movies. Go behind-the-scenes and on the sets where movies are made. Cast yourself into thrilling rides, shows and attractions that bring the action to life. Enter the World of Real Moviemaking. Face Blockbuster Thrills! Swing into Family Fun! During the day you may want to leave the park for a couple of hours and visit LA's coolest restaurants, clubs and fun at Universal CityWalk. It's a big Hollywood day you'll remember forever, at Universal Studios Hollywood SM - World's Largest Movie Studio and Theme Park. Dinner on your own. There is a food court as well as many familiar restaurants located in CityWalk. 7:00pm Park closes for the day. Visit the Universal Citywalk (just outside the front gate) for some shopping and dinner. 10:00pm Load buses and transfer back to your hotel. 11:00 pm Lights out. It s going to be a short night for some of you and long day for all tomorrow!

5 Sunday, May 6 6:45am Breakfast at the hotel (included). Scrambled eggs, Bacon, Breakfast Potatoes, Danish & Muffins, Orange Juice, Coffee, Tea & Decaf. 7:30am Group 1 load bus and transfer to LAX to check-in for flight home. 8:30am Approximate arrival at LAX. Group 1 (47 passengers) 10:40amPDT Depart LAX via AA :40pmCDT Arrive back at DFW. 9:00am Group 3 & 4 load bus and transfer to LAX to check-in for flight home. Approximate arrival at LAX. Upon deplaning, get with your room-mates and proceed to the baggage claim area. Make sure you get all of your luggage and your instrument! If you gave Mr. Newman a note from your parents before we left Mesquite about riding home with your parents from the airport, you may leave with them after you have claimed your luggage and instrument. If you are going back to Mesquite on the bus, wait with your flight group until everyone has claimed their luggage and instruments, then load buses and head back to Mesquite.
