2 : CACI S PORT OF CALL JULY 22 27, 2007 San Diego is a beautiful and relaxing city on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, consistently rated one of the top vacation destinations in North America. A national magazine once called this city the only area in the United States with perfect weather. There is so much to see and do that it is hard to fit it all in. ACCOMMODATIONS We are staying at the Kona Kai Resort and Spa, a spectacular waterfront getaway on San Diego s Shelter Island on the dramatic San Diego Bay. Kona Kai is on eleven acres of lush tropical gardens situated right at the tip of Shelter Island with a sandy beach and marina on one side and the beautiful bay with the San Diego skyline on the other side. The classic style of this California hotel includes alabaster walls, red tile roofs and archways. These features set the tone of the resort and create a warm and relaxing atmosphere in a Mediterranean style. Completely renovated in 1995, the Kona Kai Resort has a colorful history as a premiere California destination for travelers from around the world. There is volleyball on the beach, tennis courts nearby, a bike rental on property, and pathways for leisurely walks, including a walkway along the bay. The convention package includes your five nights stay at the beautiful Kona Kai, five breakfasts, four dinners, two dances plus a night of entertainment, daily Mass (except Wednesday), and parties including our welcome and after-hours parties. ATTRACTIONS Join us on a city tour to get a taste of all there is to see and do so you can plan which sites you want to spend more time at later in the week. Old Town San Diego is considered the birthplace of California. The Old Town State Historic Park is a California settlement depicting the Mexican and early American years of 1821 to 1872 with historic buildings and adobe homes. Visit Bazaar Del Mundo and also Old Town Market. Father Junipero Serra established the first of California s missions in It was moved to its present site in Mission Basilica San Diego De Alcala is one of the stops on our city tour. Balboa Park is the cultural center of San Diego with 15 museums some of which are the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center with the world s first Imax Dome Theater, an Aerospace Museum, the Historical Society Museum, a Model Railroad Museum, the Art Museum, Museum of Man and Natural History Museum. The Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park also has an observation deck overlooking the canyon. The Botanical Building has more than 2,100 plants. The Maritime Museum of San Diego on the Embarcadero encompasses three historic vessels with nautical and maritime exhibits. Also located on the Embarcadero is the

3 Aircraft Carrier Museum on the USS Midway. The USS Midway is America s longest serving carrier, 47 years, and the first ship built that was too wide to navigate the Panama Canal. You can take a 55-minute self-guided audio tour that depicts all aspects of life on the carrier. The flight and hangar decks also have various military aircraft on display. There is an elevator if you don t want to negotiate the steps between decks. Seaport Village, just a short walk from the Embarcadero, is a 14-acre outdoor plaza with a mix of Cape Cod and classic San Francisco architecture, a bayside boardwalk, waterfront shopping, dining and sidewalk eateries. We are currently working on a transportation system to get you around to the various sites of your choice. POST CONVENTION If you re not ready to end your vacation on Friday, July 27, you can stay extra nights at the Kona Kai at our special group price or you can continue your vacation at the Happiest Place On Earth - Disneyland in Anaheim, California, July Walt Disney s dream came to fruition in 1955 and has grown since then. It s not just for kids, Disneyland Is For Adults Too! It is for the kid in all of us, no matter what age. Many of the attractions are not just thrill rides (though there are some) but journeys of imagination and appreciation. Board the Disneyland Railroad and circle the park, passing the 1890 s Main Street, U.S.A., and seven other theme areas: Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Critter Country, Mickey s Toontown and New Orleans Square. Then explore each theme area on your own taking in as many attractions as you can. In addition to Disneyland, there is Disney s new park, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. California Adventure is a theme park based on the fun, golden dreams and adventures of California. Downtown Disney is a 20-acre shopping, dining and entertainment district within walking distance of both theme parks. Your post convention package includes transportation from the Kona Kai Resort in San Diego to our Anaheim motel, the Del Sol Inn for two nights with continental breakfasts. The Del Sol Inn is right across from Disneyland. Package price does not include transportation back to San Diego. When booking your flights, you can book your return flight from Orange County s John Wayne Airport or from LAX. Admission tickets to the Disney theme parks are not included. When you arrive in Anaheim you can purchase the ticket of your choice. A one-day, one-park ticket is $63. You can choose which park you wish to go to. A one-day park hopper is $83 and gives you admission to both Disney parks. A two-day park hopper ticket, which gives you admission to both parks on both days, is $122. You can also purchase tickets in advance

4 at your local AAA office or online at Disney.com and then go to Disneyland. Downtown Disney is for all to enjoy without admission. CHAPLAIN S FUND The Chaplain s Fund is administered by the CACI Chaplain. The funds are used to help local club chaplains attend the convention by covering some of their convention package and traveling costs. If you would like to contribute to this fund please do so on the convention reservation form. Moving sidewalks stretch from deep canyons to the zoo s upper levels.
