Thank you to all the members who have already paid their membership. It is very convenient for the club to accept membership paid directly into our bank account The Jayco Club of NSW bank account details are as follows; BSB Account number If you have not renewed your membership as yet, we value your membership and remind you that as per Club s constitution you cease to be a member at the end of August. However if you wish to remain a member and own a Jayco recreational vehicle then your membership may be renewed without the use of a new application fee. Liz Beesley Treasurer NOTE: Members who joined after the start of this calendar year are financial until Wendy s Wanderings WHERE WE VE BEEN July Rally Report JAYCO CLUB OF NSW REPORT OF MYALL SHORES RALLY JULY 2016 The following members attended the rally over various periods from July 2016 at the NRMA Myall Shores Resort at Bombah Point on the Myall Lakes Tony & Maria Battaglia, Col & Vinnie Every, Shaun Bowers and Lorraine Barrett, Paul & Helen Anderson, Tom & Chris Lee, Greg & Judy Cavanagh, John & Tricia Spencer. Mick & Lyne Robinson dropped in for a visit on Friday, showing off two grandsons. Mick is facing some surgery and we wish him well. The rally started badly for the 2Bs. The Jeep broke down near Gloucester and had to be taken to hospital in Sydney. As Shaun and Lorraine were on holiday, this couldn t have been a worse start. However, a knight errant in the form of Bob Purcell came to their rescue, towing their van to Myall Shores for the holiday, returning with Helen on Sunday to tow the van back to its home. Well done, Bob! The start of the week saw cold strong winds on Tuesday night and

2 Wednesday until Maria exercised her Secretarial authority and told the wind to stop! It did, and the weather from then on was fine other than a few hours of light rain one night. The days in the sun were beautiful. Friday night saw everyone in the licensed restaurant onsite for an evening of Pizzas (although a couple opted for fish and chips). It was great value and a nice easy evening at the old Legges Camp which was established in the late 1800s. On Saturday, we all boarded the car ferry and went into Tea Gardens for fish and chips in a cone at the Hotel Restaurant after visiting the Tea Gardens Markets. Sunday was a bit overcast with a few light showers but we still managed to have a community Bar-b-que in the camp kitchen. The wildlife was interesting. On Wednesday morning, John S was eating a piece of toast when a Kookaburra swooped down and took the slice right out of his hand. Not one to learn quickly, some days later, John was eating a curried egg sandwich at lunchtime when the same thing happened. However, the kangaroos were tame and quiet, as was a possum which feasted on the fat catcher underneath the barbeque we used. One afternoon, Shaun decided to feed the birds by throwing some bread we were all astounded at the number and variety of birds that must have been watching us and swooped down to the bread. All enjoyed the rally. The scenic bush setting was different from the usual manicured surrounds of a caravan park. Many said they would return. We all headed off home to wash the vans and cars after the 12kms of gravel road in and out. Tony got over his initial upset at getting some dirt on the car and van. JOHN & TRICIA SPENCER Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

5 Heteronyms -- Enjoy! Homographs are words of like spelling but with more than one meaning. A homograph that is also pronounced differently is a heteronym. You think English is easy??
