1 1 At long last it looks like spring may finally be here. It s this time of year that clubs must pay their dues. Treasures you don t have to wait for a board meeting to have it passed to pay them. Early payment could save a lot of headaches later on L.C.I have gotten tough on late payments so they must be paid by ninety days or your Club will be put in suspension.then your Club can t operate as a Club and all projects must cease. To get back to status quo the dues must be paid in full within 28 days if this happens twice a Club will be canceled. Also District dues are due now if Clubs haven t paid first ½ year dues by 1 st November they will not be able to vote at convention so make sure they are paid. Also a reminder to all Clubs you cannot use the Lions Logo on any item sold to Lions or the general public for fund raising purposes as it is illegal to do so. You can still say it s a Lions project but don t use the Logo. Convention is coming around fast so get your registration in early as it helps with the planning of caters. We have a great weekend arranged with good speakers a great partners program and good entertainment.the theme for the Saturday night dine and dance is Highland Country there are many ways you can interoperate this. Looking forward to seeing you all in Ranfurly on November. Registrations can be found on Maniototo Lions web site Lion s awareness week starts on the 5 th October. 4 4 NOVEMBER is DIABETES AWARENESS MONTH and the 14 th 0f NOVEMBER is DIABETES AWARENESS DAY. A committee of Lions members and supporters from 202J and F have produced a 2016 calendar to raise funds for the Type 1 Diabetes Stem Cell research. All the hard work has been done - each month has been generously sponsored and the photos are of children who have Type 1 or have members of their family with Type 1. Many kilometres have been travelled by the children, their parents and the photographer to get the required photo shoots. All this at no cost to us and we thank them all sincerely for their support. It just showed how much this project meant to them. All we are asking Clubs now to do is to sell as many of these calendars as they can; to members and to the general public at a cost of $10-00 each. All funds raised in each district will be acknowledged for that district. Each district will be asked to initially sell 2500 calendars which in 202F means an allocation of 50 calendars per club. We suggest that throughout the month of November clubs give this project the biggest push that they can, hold a street stall in your town and get the project to as many of the general public possible. Calendars will be available from your Zone Chairman after the 18 th October. We are now in our third year for this project and would like to see it reach the goal set by the end of the year. Thank you for the support already given, we now just need to keep things rolling for a little longer. IPDG Les Glassey, Zone 5 Chair Barry Holloway, Sandra Grant, Elisabeth Glassey.

The following are walks planned for am on 10 October 2015 to fundraise and supply more equipment for children with these special mobility needs.
