2 Autumn in Harrington Grove provides a spectacular kaleidoscope of vibrant greens, rich golds and russet reds. With crisp, clear days, this is a perfect time of year to enjoy the natural beauty of the estate. An extensive network of scenic walking paths and cycleways provide residents the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the bushland reserve surrounding both Harrington Grove and Harrington Park. Dianella precinct is now complete Harrington Estates is proud to announce that development of Harrington Grove s fourth and latest precinct, Dianella, is now complete and construction of a number of homes is currently underway. Dianella was released in August 2011, featuring level home sites ranging in size from 702sqm to 1167sqm, a children s playground, and a number of cycleways and walking paths with a variety of fitness stations. There will also be a neighbourhood centre built nearby with sport and recreational facilities for the use and enjoyment of residents. Public art on display Located along the cycleways and pathways you will soon be able to see some great public art pieces which are representative of the community s fascinating history. The art pieces celebrate the indigenous landscape, the history of the Macarthur region, Orielton and Harrington Park. A copy of the Harrington Grove Pathway Directory illustrates the locations for each of the art pieces that are to be installed why not pick up your copy of the brochure on your next visit to the Country Club. 2

3 The first neighbourhood centre - Harrington Green In addition to the architecturally designed Country Club with its state of the art facilities; a 25m pool and children s splash pool, four rebound tennis courts, a well equipped gym, function rooms and dining facilities, there will be two fabulous neighbourhood centres built at Harrington Grove. These centres will provide additional sport and recreation facilities for residents and it is envisioned there will be a swimming pool, a hard court, barbecue facilities, picnic grounds, a lounge area and a community room that can be used for events such as children s parties, family get togethers or business meetings. Harrington Green is to be the first of the two neighbourhood centres and will be situated near the Dianella precinct. When complete, Harrington Grove will have 1400 homes and the neighbourhood centres will provide residents with additional sport, recreation and picnic facilities to enjoy. Fitness stations in the Grove Fitness stations and playgrounds are a great way to enjoy the outdoors and lead an active and healthy lifestyle. At Harrington Grove, there are a number of children s playgrounds as well as fitness stations that have been designed to provide a good fitness workout for people of any ability or level. These fitness stations are located along the many walking paths throughout Harrington Grove. Each fitness station has a different range of equipment and is a great way to combine specific exercises with walking or jogging to help create a well-balanced fitness program. Try each station in turn for a complete aerobics workout. Just a few homesites left at Harrington Park There are now only a few homesites remaining from Stage 39 in the Hillside Village area of Harrington Park, ranging from 1002sqm to 1109sqm and priced at $300,000. These homesites are amongst the most elevated land released in Harrington Park, offering views beyond the estate and overlooking the surrounding countryside. 4 Greening the Grove Turning into Harrington Grove s tree-lined driveway, you immediately notice the magnificent grounds; the work of talented on-site nurseryman, David and maintenance experts, Andrew, Chris and Vince. David manages the estates on-site tree nursery which turns over approximately 500 trees annually of mostly large, ornamental, deciduous trees such as Maples, Pyrus and Oaks. David has been involved with the Harrington Park development since its inception in 1994, having set up the on-site tree nursery in preparation of the landscaping requirements of the estate. During the development period, David and his team have been responsible for planting all the trees in the streets and parks of Harrington Park and Harrington Grove. David and the team take pride in their work and their commitment to delivering a high standard of care and maintenance is evident not only at the Country Club but in the beautiful parks and gardens of Harrington Grove and Harrington Park. Beginning their day at 7.00am, rain, hail or sunshine, David and the team can be seen carrying out the ongoing maintenance, planting, mulching and mowing of the extensive landscape, so next time you see them, stop and say hello. 4

5 Residents Rendezvous Evenings Last Residents Rendezvous Get ready to Tee off Last Residents Rendezvous The Residents Rendezvous Cocktail evenings are always well attended and great fun. Held at the Country Club on a Friday night, every second month, these events are a wonderful opportunity for residents to meet their neighbours and make new friends. The next evening will be on Friday, 6th July. Log on to for more information about the event. The Harrington Grove Social Golf Club was formed in 2011 by some of the residents of Harrington Grove. The social golf club currently has 26 members and welcomes new players of all playing standards. Social games are being played on a monthly basis with the Country Club being the home club house. The courses have been booked for 2012 and there are still spaces available for residents who wish to come along and have a game. The Country Club has four rebound ace surface tennis courts available for use seven days a week. 6 Sunday Sounds - a great success Recently, Harrington Grove residents were treated to an afternoon of musical entertainment in the Country Club s amphitheatre. Students of Macarthur Anglican School performed a wide selection of contemporary, popular classics and cover songs such as Neil Diamond s Medley, The Beatles, Christina Aguilera, right through to Handel s, La Réjouissance throughout the afternoon. Residents and guests enjoyed a beautiful day at the Country Club taking in the Sunday Sounds. 7 Restoration of the Harrington Park Homestead The homestead was purchased by Sir Warwick Fairfax in 1944 and has remained with his wife, Lady Fairfax ever since. Used as a country retreat, Sir Warwick spent much time there with his family relaxing, reading and writing. The Harrington Park homestead has been listed in the NSW State Heritage Register. The listing recognises the historical value of the property and ensures the preservation for future generations. The restoration and conservation work on the Harrington Park homestead to return it to its former grandeur is progressing, with the recent completion of a new galvanised roof on the main section of the two storey house (circa 1825).
