Shannon Ross, a Service Supervisor in Brisbane, completed the technician training as an apprentice, and has continued to go above and beyond for his Mack customers. So much so that he was acknowledged as a runner up at the 2013 Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA) Young Professional of the Year Awards. Shannon began as an apprentice in 2007 and has worked his way up the ranks from a technician on the floor to becoming a top-quality Service Supervisor. To have achieved this at age 27 and in such a short time is remarkable, says Shannon s manager, Iain Allison. Shannon now manages a team of twelve, while providing vital maintenance and repair services to heavy duty trucks. When witnessing Shannon s passion for the job, it s clear how he captured the attention of the CILTA judges. In servicing, our number one priority is safety, says Shannon, so sometimes we have to put in the extra hours. We always make sure it s 100% before we release it. Shannon is just one example of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.
