2 Join us as we celebrate the 81st Annual Ducks Unlimited National Convention in Indianapolis at the JW Marriott May 29 June 3, Meet up with fellow hunters, hear from some of the top conservationists in the country, visit Indianapolis most unique attractions and enjoy great food and camaraderie during DU s 81st annual convention. New this year is our tour program format. It is similar to a hop-on hop-off type tour experience where you get to decide which attractions you want to visit. Shuttles will loop on a designated route from the JW Marriott to the many museums, restaurants, boutiques, Sun King Brewery, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum or other attractions the downtown area offers. You may tour at your leisure for a minimal fee as you hop-on and hop-off the shuttle throughout the day. Admission to the attractions you wish to visit will be purchased when you arrive at each destination. Tours are available Tuesday through Friday. Wednesday is our opening night event at the Indianapolis Zoo with a special experience with the Zoo s Magnificent Macaws a jungle themed exhibit in which seven species of parrots fly free, including scarlet, hyacinth, and blue and gold macaws. These beautifully feathered, large parrots are among the most endangered birds in the world. We will have an up close and personal experience with these beautiful birds, and learn about conservation efforts to sustain populations in their native habitats. The Indianapolis Zoo is ranked as one of the top zoos in the nation and will provide a unique venue to kick off the festivities. Friday brings a new program to convention with our Wings Over Wetlands Celebration Dinner. This evening is designed to recognize and honor our volunteers and major donors for their significant achievements throughout the year and thank our partners for their support. This year s business session will consist of two half-days on Friday and Saturday mornings. As always, convention week concludes with a reception and gala on Saturday evening. When packing, keep in mind the temperatures in Indianapolis are moderate with lows in the 60s at night and 80s during the day. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and clothing for tours. Dress is casual for the zoo on Wednesday. The traditional dinner on the town with friends is Thursday and dress is dependent on your restaurant reservation. Dress for our Wings Over Wetlands Celebration Dinner is cocktail casual. Business casual is appropriate for the two half-day business sessions on Friday and Saturday. Ladies, please feel free to dress as formal as you wish for the 81st Annual Convention Reception and Gala. Gentlemen, a suite and tie are recommended for the Gala. 3 Start your engines and join us for the 81st Annual Ducks Unlimited National Convention in Indianapolis, May 30 June 3, Presented by The Proud Issuer of the Ducks Unlimited Visa Due to the many tour options available just outside the doors of the JW Marriott, we have created a new way for you to enjoy our host city; a hop-on hop-off type experience! Shuttles will run a scheduled route throughout downtown and to the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum for you to tour at your leisure. Visit as many museums, restaurants, boutiques, Sun King Brewery or other attractions the downtown area offers for only $20 each day you wish to tour. Admission to the tour attractions you plan to visit will be paid once you arrive at your tour destination. The following are our tour suggestions. All shuttles depart and return to the JW Marriott Event Center entrance located on the White River Ballroom level. The first shuttle departs at 9:30am for the downtown tour loop and 9:00am for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The last shuttle pick-up is 4:45pm from the downtown locations and 4:15pm from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

4 Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum $20 Shuttle each day. Due to the cleanup after the Indianapolis 500 race on Memorial Day Weekend (Sunday, May 27), some of the track and grounds are not available for tours. VIP Grounds Tour with Museum: Friday Only: Adults: $30 9:30am, 11:15am, Youth: $15 (6-15) 1:15pm, 3:00pm Children: Free (5 and under) When you think of Indianapolis, you think of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Racing Capital of the World. Located just a few miles from downtown, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) Museum has amassed one of the world s largest, and most varied collections of racing, antique and classic cars, including more than 30 that have won the famous Indianapolis 500. The Museum is honored as a National Historic Landmark and you will see why on your tour. Listed above are the two tour options available. Kiss the Bricks Tour with Museum: Thursday - Friday: Adults: $20 9:30am 3:30pm Youth: $10 (6-15) Children: Free (5 and under) Note that bus tours of the race track are available weather permitting. The VIP Grounds Tour is a 90-minute tour that includes the IMS Museum, the Kiss the Bricks lap and a visit to the Media Center, Victory Podium, Timing and Scoring and the Pagoda. The Kiss the Bricks tour includes the IMS Museum, one lap around the IMS oval with recorded audio, 30-minute guided tour with the option of getting out of the bus at the world famous Yard of Bricks. 5 Soldiers and Sailors Monument and Monument Circle $20 Shuttle each day. Wednesday - Thursday: 10:30am 4:45pm Admission: Free (walk up) $2 (elevator) Phone: (317) The Soldiers and Sailors monument is located on Monument Circle in the center of downtown and has come to symbolize the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. The monument is Indiana s official memorial to the Hoosiers who served in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Frontier Wars and the Spanish-American War. This impressive limestone monument was constructed between 1887 and 1902 and designed by Bruno Schmitz. The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is only 15 feet shorter than the Statue of Liberty. To replicate a similar structure today, it would cost more than five hundred million dollars. To see the amazing views of Indianapolis, visit the observation level only 330 steps up, or you may take the elevator to step 290 and walk the remaining 40 steps. 6 Scottish Rite Cathedral $20 Shuttle each day. Tuesday - Thursday: 10:00am 2:00pm Admission: Free Groups of 10 or more: $3 ea. Phone: (317) One of the most beautiful buildings in Indianapolis is the Scottish Rite Cathedral. It remains the largest building in the United States devoted to Freemasonry and has brilliantly colored art glass windows, richly carved woodwork, and ornately patterned ceilings. The East and South entrances to the Cathedral have hand-crafted bronze medallions set in the travertine marble floors. The detailed centerpieces display the 12 signs of the zodiac and the four principal degrees of Scottish Rite. The dominant feature of the exterior is the Singing Tower, a pillar which rises 212 feet above the sidewalk level and contains the carillon. It consists of 54 bells collectively weighing 56,372 pounds and making it one of the largest carillons in the United States. First opened in 1886, the Indianapolis City Market is on the National Register of Historic Places. With over 30 local artisan booths, the Indianapolis City Market is a popular destination for eateries, fresh produce and retailers, and is a great destination to stop for lunch during your day. The Original Farmers Market is held every Wednesday, May through October, on Market Street in front of City Market and is one of central Indiana s longest-running and largest farmers markets. Tuesday - Thursday: 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm Phone: (317) Adults: $10 Seniors: $7 (age 65+) Children: $7 (ages 4-12) Children 3 and under: Free (when accompanied by paying adult) Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts is a state-of-the-art stadium with a retractable roof which seats over 63,000 football fans. Tour of the stadium last approximately 90 minutes and include visits to the playing field, an NFL locker room, Lucas Oil Plaza, the press box, and numerous other areas (depending on availability) that are generally inaccessible to the public. If you are interested in this tour, we encourage you to secure your ticket prior to arrival. Tickets are available for purchase two weeks in advance of each tour date until tour begins or sold out. Tickets may be purchased at the exterior ticket windows of the Colts Pro Shop located at the northeast side of the stadium, near the corner of South Street and Capitol Avenue.

Wednesday - Thursday: 9:30am 4:45pm Phone: (317) Admission: FREE Dominating the five-block scenic setting of War Memorial Plaza in downtown Indianapolis, the Indiana World War Memorial rises 210 feet above street level. This three-level Greek-style limestone and marble memorial pays tribute to Hoosiers killed during WWI, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam wars. One of the worlds finest Native American and Western Art collections is located across the street from the JW Marriott. The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is one of only two such museums east of the Mississippi. The Eiteljorg contains traditional and contemporary pieces from artists such as T.C. Cannon, Andy Warhol and Georgia O Keefe, as well as a collection of paintings and bronzes by Frederic Remington.

The NCAA Hall of Champions located across the street from the JW Marriott is a two-level interactive exhibit which engages visitors and creates a true-tolife understanding of what it takes to be a collegiate athlete. The first level has all 24 NCAA sports represented and includes a novice to historian trivia challenge, current team rankings, video highlights, and artifacts donated from colleges around the nation. The second level is a fully interactive area where you may compete virtually and hands-on through sports simulators. Indiana State Museum features unique exhibits and hands-on experiences that showcase the stories, events and characters that helped shape Indiana s history. Located across the street from the JW Marriott, the Indiana State Museum tells the story of the Hoosier state, and features exhibits that explore Indiana art, science and culture. 10 Art at the Barn with Anthony J. Padgett Wednesday - Thursday: 12:30pm 4:30pm $40/person Spend an afternoon with 2008 Ducks Unlimited International Artist of the Year, Anthony J. Padgett in his personal studio. His 1850 s barn with hand hewn beams has been transformed into a working studio and gallery where over 50 original paintings and artwork from Anthony s 30+ year career fill the interior. Take a tour, participate in the interactive art demonstration, and enjoy samplings of Indiana s food and beverages. Local beer and wine tasting are sure to make this an enjoyable respite in the countryside. Space is limited to 40 people per day. Bus will begin boarding for departure at 11:45am.
