We held our General Membership Meeting at Porto at the Sea, Flagler Beach. The tablecloths and food reminded us of earlier times and made it worth the drive.

We are entering the snowbird season and will have fewer members to support our summer functions. That does not mean that we will not func- tion however!

We will honor our Birthday and Anniversary Celebrants May 10. The General Membership Meeting has been moved to the last Tuesday, May 31.

Social Activities Thanks again to all of you for your flexibility and appreciation for adapting to our ever changing location. We are truly a social yacht club with our land based ports of call including numerous restaurants as well as the waterfront. We held our General Membership Meeting at Porto at the Sea, Flagler Beach. The tablecloths and food reminded us of earlier times and made it worth the drive. We had a larger attendance than expected but will be ready for it next month. May will continue to illustrate our dexterity as a Club. We are entering the snowbird season and will have fewer members to support our summer functions. The Fleet departs May 12 and returns May 17 for a trip to St. Simon s Island. St. Simon s is a very historic and beautiful location so the trip also will be a great event for land cruisers and is only approximately 140 miles from Palm Coast. As the work ends on the sale of our beautiful facility, we are landing on our collective feet and discovering new ways to go forward. We have paid off the mortgage, we have refunded the Capital Contributions, and we will be paying the capital gains tax along with our corporate tax filing in May. With the calmer seas, we have a strong group of members who find our dinner locations and enjoy the fine friends and fine din ing. We have started to say see you in September to our snow birds and look forward to their return sometime in the fall. The social/dining members join the boating members at various destinations staying at nearby hotels or just driving there for the day. We play tourist and have dock parties. Mike Norris has planned a full calendar for the remainder of the year. Included in this newsletter is the article which describes our Principles of Operation (see page 5). The BOG worked hard on developing these ideas as we move forward. It is our mission statement for the future. We look forward to potentially returning to Channelside as they begin hosting events. Fleet Activities The two cruises so far this year were quite successful and blessed by beautiful weather. The mini-cruise to Marineland Marina was a wonderful couple of days.

Pierce, FL was quite the adventure. Andy decided to pass it up and HEAD for the Keys; after problems with the HEAD he decided to HEAD home. Nine boaters from PCYC attended MTOA; all attended by car.

Penury proceeded south after MTOA stopping in Vero Beach for several days, then on to Old Port Cove (OPC) in Palm Beach. We departed OPC for West End and made it a little more than half way.

So, we departed and headed south again; we were in a marina in Aventura that was quite nice while we rode out reportedly questionable weather over the weekend.

3 Fleet Activities The two cruises so far this year were quite successful and blessed by beautiful weather. The mini-cruise to Marineland Marina was a wonderful couple of days. The trip to New Smyrna Beach on the weekend of the art show was great fun. Both locations were accessible by car and many members participated. The MTOA southern rendezvous in early APR in Ft. Pierce, FL was quite the adventure. Andy decided to pass it up and HEAD for the Keys; after problems with the HEAD he decided to HEAD home. Nine boaters from PCYC attended MTOA; all attended by car. The Murphy s and Schwartz s stayed in a local hotel. The 5 of us aboard Penury ended up commuting from Titusville while waiting for repairs. Penury proceeded south after MTOA stopping in Vero Beach for several days, then on to Old Port Cove (OPC) in Palm Beach. We departed OPC for West End and made it a little more than half way. The starboard engine had a headache, so we decided to be cautious and returned to OPC rather than going on. After a thorough exam, the engine was ready, but the weather window closed. So, we departed and headed south again; we were in a marina in Aventura that was quite nice while we rode out reportedly questionable weather over the weekend. We continued south on Monday (18) to Biscayne Bay, Dinner Key Marina, to reunite with the Sulsers following their quick trip back to Palm Coast. The weather does not look favorable for a crossing to the Bahamas in the near term, so we may amble on to the Keys. The Wertz s have volunteered to be Event Captains for a trip to Golden Isle in Georgia. The plans are unsettled at the moment for many reasons; the main reason being the status of Sea Sea Rider (SS* R). We are hopeful that SSR will get its new propulsion allowing the cruise to occur as planned. The plan is to leave 12 May and return on 17 May. We are considering a cruise in JUN to Ortega Landing just off the St Johns River. The marina has availability for the weekend of JUN. We would depart PC on 9 JUN and return on 15 JUN. For the weekend of 4 JUL, the St Augustine Marina is currently holding 6 slips for PCYC, and we are on the waiting list for 2 additional ones. We have more interest than slips at present, but getting all interested vessels anywhere is always a challenge. I am including a tentative list of 2016 cruise events. Please take a look and recommend your good ideas for destinations or events. 6 6 Social Activities (Continued from page 1) taining ourselves over an extended weekend. Thank you to everyone who has been participating as we continue the redefinition of ourselves. The operative word is fun and we continue to enjoy one another s company. This attracted snowbirds Fred and Pam Nessler to join us as well as Greg and Jacqui Sales Davis to rejoin now that they reside full time in Palm Coast. I m looking forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming events. Linda Osborn Rear Commodore Shipmates, Ahoy Our lunches at the Palm Harbor golf club's Canfield's Restaurant continue to be delightful, with as many as 12 ladies at table. The last lunch on April 6 was hosted by Luci McGhee who reports it was a lot of fun. Donella Crawford hosted on April 20. May will see our lunches continuing on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. We should think of some more fun outings, so put your thinking caps on! Our boat Penury should be back at her home port at the end of April, so I shall see you all in May, avast ye landlubbers... Sarah Ulis Shipmates Captain Welcome New Members Fred and Pam Nessler have dual residences - one home in Palm Coast, Florida, and one home in Forked River, New Jersey. Fred is a retired Executive Officer of the Verona, New Jersey Police Department. Pam is a retired language arts teacher and reading specialist. Both have been boaters since they were married 45 years ago, and both are active members of the Forked River Tuna Club. Fred s passion is sport fishing and he has participated in numerous New Jersey tournaments, and he has fished around the world. Pam enjoys reading, writing, and researching history and various other topics of interest. We will be looking forward to seeing Fred and Pam when they return to Palm Coast in January. Gregg and Jacqui Sales Davis have been reinstated as Members of the Club. Gregg has recently retired and Jacqui is preparing to retire from their business renting and selling properties in the Northeast. Gregg was proud to tell me that the Library of Congress had selected Jacqui as a History Maker for her business and professional career and volunteer efforts. Although they will retain a residence in D.C., Gregg and Jackie will be spending most of their time in Palm Coast.
