MEC Vice Chairman Captain Monty Montgomery (DTW 757)
ALPA Executive Vice President DAL Letter 19 Captain A. Ray Miller 401k/ALPA Dues Merger Policy
Air Safety Chairman Captain Bob Aaron
Contract Administration Local Volunteers available 24/ C20 Contract Administration Captain Ed Mueller (Chairman) Captain Dan Coogan Captain Donna Shepard David Adler
Contract Administration Force Majeure II and III Both cases are part of the larger pre-bankruptcy petition claims settlement. The pre-bankruptcy petition claims cover pilots who had grievances filed on violations that happened prior to the bankruptcy filing. The Force Majeure II and III cases cover pilots who were furloughed and did not receive furlough pay. FM I covered the first 490 furloughs and is not included in this settlement. An arbitrator ruled against ALPA in that case. All bankruptcy court requirements are completed. Our investment banker is charged with selling the claim. Once the claim is sold, money will be distributed to those pilots who have claims.
Contract Administration London (Heathrow) delays The Company is apparently boarding the LHR flights and then holding the flight at the gate to prevent an early arrival in LHR. The info reported to contract admin so far is that the holds are quite lengthy. I am still trying to gather information so we can get this practice stopped if it is as it appears. If this happens to you please call us with the details. OE Hour Requirements The training department is starting to limit OE on international aircraft to 25 hours. Actually, less than that. The most recent complaint I had was 18:00 plus the line check to get them up to 25:00. We are starting to see this more and more. I am working with our legal staff to see if the requirements in Section 11.J.2.h. are indeed what governs OE scheduling or if that language is limited to TRB situations.
Contract Administration 11.J.2.h. Operating Experience (OE) J.2.h.(1) Initial Operating Experience (IOE) The IOE syllabus shall normally consist of 25 hours (subject to being expanded to 50 hours at the discretion of the TRB) for a domestic category and 50 hours (subject to being expanded to 100 hours at the discretion of the TRB) for an international category. It is understood that, in applying these 50 hour and 1001 hour maximums, a pilot who is below the applicable maximum may be assigned to an IOE trip which takes him past the applicable maximum. Upon completion of the IOE syllabus (including the expansion referred to above, if approved by the TRB), which may be completed early, a pilot may be: J.2.h.(1)(a) given a line check (released to line flying in case of First Officer or Second Officer); or J.2.h.(1)(b) referred to the TRB Section 11 - Training July 31, 2006
Contract Administration A pilot who undergoes a line check but fails to meet the required standard shall be referred to the TRB. A pilot who does not meet the required standard during his third line check will be withdrawn from his training assignment and returned to his previous permanent position, subject to the provisions of Section 11 J.3..
