I ll bet if one person wanted this done there were several others also. Governor Anil has announced District 5240's Rotarian's at Work Day as Saturday, February 21 st Rotarians all over the world will be participating on this as well as other dates. This is an opportunity for clubs to join together along with their sister clubs as well as Interact, Youthact, and Rotaract clubs to participate in Community Service Projects, whether indoors or out of doors. The possibilities are almost endless: Sprucing up, painting, renovating, and gardening at schools, public facilities, hospitals. Or perhaps cleanup at the river, parks, or beaches. Visiting/reading to/with children, seniors, or servicemen in care facilities. Working with other non profits like Food-Share or the Salvation Army are other possibilities. Use your club's special talents and imagination! The main goal obviously is to foster community service. This also provides a golden opportunity to get Rotary's name out in the public. Invite the local newspapers and even the school's newspaper to follow along. Take pictures and write your own press release. Highlight the cross generational aspects and get it over to the media. On a selfish note; participating with your sister clubs and our Rotary youth can fulfill one or more district awards criteria. Regards, to all!
