3 Organized in 1935 Deer Creek Division of the Provo River Project Irrigation water for Utah, Salt Lake, Summit and Wasatch counties. Drinking water for communities in northern Utah County and the Salt Lake Valley. Canal built in 1911 and enlarged in 1944.

10 To date, approximately 102,000 linear feet of pipe has been placed. The flowable fill and backfill are complete to 95% The welding of pipe sections occurs after backfill. This activity is approximately 90% complete.

11 By May 1, 2012 the project will be substantially complete: The mainline pipe will be completely installed, backfilled and welded. All turnouts, piping and flow-control valves will be installed and tested. The system will be hydrotested. Approximately 50% of the SCADA controls will be installed and functioning. The parallel siphon will be completed and in service.

13 Over 500 crossing utilities needed to be addressed Utility owners required to pay for or relocate their own utilities. PRCEP participants are helping mitigate impact to cities by paying 25% of cities costs and allowing three years to reimburse Project.

20 The excavation for the canal has required approximately 12,480,000 cubic feet or 462,000 cubic yards of excavation in order to place the pipe. That is enough dirt to fill 50,820 dump trucks or this would stack dirt vertically on a football field 277 feet deep. There is approximately 32,600 tons of steel in the pipeline. That equals 684,600,000 Twinkies.

21 There will be approximately 186,000 cubic yards of CLSM supporting the enclosed canal. That would fill 789,012,000 Jello Pudding Snack Packs or make a sidewalk 3,587,012 feet long. Each pipe section is supported in the trench by an average of 15 sandbags. The entire pipeline will require approximately 40,000 sandbags.
