We are very excited about this great opportunity to host such a big event Regional Jamboree fi rst time in our history in Mongolia. We are anxiously waiting to have a great time with you and share our culture and scouting life. As our jamboree theme goes Go Nomad: we will be learning from nomads around the world, and promote unity while building, playing and serving together. The event will give opportunities to meet with new friends, learn, inspire and share. We are willing to host many foreign scouts and it will be our greatest pleasure to create the biggest international scouts gathering in our history. In order to let you leave the Jamboree with the best memory we will do our best. I hope that many Scouts as well as their Leaders will join us on APR 31st Jamboree. I would like to remind you about two events going to be held in preparation for 31st APR Scout Jamboree. I hope that you will make plans for attending the 2nd Mongolian International Jamboree from 25 July to 1 August 2016, and the First Head of Contingent Visit from July 2016 to experience our program. +

2 31st ASIA PACIFIC REGIONAL SCOUT JAMBOREE Registration for the Jamboree (update) As of the end of December 2015, we have received registration from 5 countries and territories listed below. Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, South Korea Day Visitor The 31st Asia Pacifi c Regional Jamboree is open for Day Visitors who are scouts and non-scout member guests to come and experience the spirit of Scouting and truth about Nomadic life on 4 fantastic days from 9:00-17:00. Friday 28th July Saturday 29th July Sunday 30th July Monday 31st July Access A shuttle bus service (charged) will be available from Dragon Bus Station. The Schedule and price of the shuttle bus will be announced on the Jamboree Facebook page around May Registration Day Visitor ticket will be available through our NSO headquarter and simply apply by or from the purchase Welcome centre at the Jamboree Site. Admission ticket: 50$ USD. The ticket will include; - Guided tour through the jamboree site - Lunch at the cafeteria - ID card from the Jamboree - Souviners Day Visitor Experience Day Visitors will be greeted at the Welcome centre for check-in and will be given a guided tour of the Jamboree site. However if participants choose to receive local insurance company service, we can provide highly recommended companies. In case of emergency there are international health services including SOS Medica, Grand Med and Inter Med Hospitals are also providing health services with international quality. Tents for international contingents Tents will be available for purchase with pre order. Scout Shop will arrange tents with 2-3 choices and it will be 2 3 people tents. The types are collapsible and fi ber glass pole tents. Some countries require not to bring back to the country any camping equipment after using in the fi elds for safety reason. Therefore Scout Shop be able to arrange tents for supply. We encourage scouts from the countries with above mentioned condition to contact us and order tents. Order must be before 17th January

3 Pre Jamboree and Post Jamboree tour programs Since many of the foreign scouts have an opportunity of visiting the far-land Mongolia it is a great country to explore after or before the Jamboree. The scout headquarter is co-operating local tour operators to handle logistics and transportation for your contingents. Pre Jamboree and Post Jamboree tour programs include organizing the community service projects along with an opportunity to see the beautiful nature of Mongolia; horseback riding, taking pictures with 2 humped camel, hike and visit Buddhist Temple, visit the world largest statue of Genghis Khan and more. Service Project will be held at the Mongolian Scout center. The standard length of the program is 4 days/3nights and the program is customizable. Accommodation is in 4 choices from guest house to 5 stars International Hotel. For booking and corresponding please use our international department via intl@scout.mn and we will redirect the information. Services at the Jamboree Bank Bank will be located in the Jamboree headquarter. This will include counter service for currency exchange. We can exchange USD, Euro, JPY, CNY, HKD. Cash will be the normal method of paying for goods and services at Jamboree. Credit cards will be accepted in the Scout Shop. Supermarket Supermarket will be placed near the Jamboree Hospital. The store will be open from 9 am to 9 pm and provide light meals, drinks, snacks and daily necessities and basic medicine and fi rst aid items. Internet Free WI-FI will be available at locations listed below. Jamboree headquarter Welcome Centre APR Scout Centre Hotel Main Building of the Centre Postal Service There will be a postal service located at the Jamboree headquarter, enabling everyone to send small pacckages, letters and postcards. Food court Supermarket will be placed near the Subcamps for providing different kind of foods participants can be enjoying. 3

4 Cultural Exchange Day Cultural Exchange Day on 30th July, will comprise a number of major events held at the Jamboree site, turning the whole Jamboree into a great festival with music, performances, games, food, etc. All Contingents are recommended to wear their national costumes and prepare items or performances for this one day event. Naadam Festival On the morning and afternoon of 30th July, Naadam festival will be held. This will be an opportunity for all Scouts to experience and enjoy the meaning of Naadam festival of Mongolia known as eriin gurvan naadam (эрийн гурван наадам) the three games of men. The games are Mongolian wrestling, horse racing, and archery, and are held throughout the country during midsummer. World Food Festival World food festival will be held in the afternoon of 30th July. This will be a great opportunity for Contingents to share their cultures with everyone at the Jamboree. Each Unit is asked to host identify providing food representing their culture. Please note that all cost related to Cultural Exchange Day should be covered by Contingent budget. Basic food ingredients for World Food Festival will be available in Supermarket at Jamboree site. In addition, if you intend to import any items into Mongolia, it is your Contingent s responsibility to make the necessary preparations for the customs clearances. Arena event In the evening there will be special stage show in the Arena. Each Contingent recommended to perform a national song, dance or play. Before Jamboree please confi rm to Jamboree offi ce about your performances. 4

5 31st Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree Mongolia Special 3-Day Package Program Mongolia Special 3-Day Package offers visit to the 31st Asia-Pacifi c Regional Scout Jamboree. The package includes participation in the Opening Ceremony, observation of the program and short tour to the highlights of Mongolia such as cultural and educational and soft adventure experiences includes beautiful nature sightseeing, horseback riding, visit Buddhist Temple, visit out of town the world largest statue of Genghis Khan, famous brand Cashmere shopping, Traditional dance and music concert, Dinosaur fossils exhibition and more. Arrival: before 12:00 pm 28th July 2017 Departure: after 10:00 am on 31st July Eligibility Committee and Sub-Committee members of the Asia-Pacifi c Region and other Regions, Chief Commissioners and other key leaders from NSOs as well as their accompanies are welcomed to enroll in this program. Arrival and Departure Transportation will be arranged for arrivals on 28th July and departures on 31st July. If you require accommodation arrangement before or after the date, it can be done with additional cost. Please mind there is only one arrival point - Chinggis Khaan International Airport: Registration Please fi ll up the registration form and send it to the Jamboree Offi ce. Please send the form by 15th May Especially for the accommodation, slots are available on fi rst-come, fi rst-served basis. Fee Package price : USD 275/- per person Package includes... - Pick up from Chinggis Khaan Airport upon your arrival on 28 July. - Drop off at Chinggis Khaan Airport upon your departure on 31 July. - 6 meals, from lunch of the 28th until breakfast of 31st July. - Participation in the Opening Ceremony, visit to the Campsite including some of the Program and short educational tour in Ulaanbaatar Accommodation A reasonable indoor accommodation at Jamboree site and there will be only twin rooms (if you are signing up by yourself, you will share a room with other guest). 6 FIRST HEAD OF CONTINGENT VISIT (updated) First Heads of Contingent Visit will be held from 29th to 31st July 2016 at Nairamdal, the 31st APR Scout Jamboree site. We are planning to have two Heads of Contingent Visits. We recommend each Contingent to send representatives to at least one of them (if possible both). During the 2nd International Jamboree which is pre-jamboree of a 31APRSJ Head of Contingent Visit will be held. This will be a great opportunity to visit the Jamboree site, and get an image of the Jamboree in Nairamdal. Venue: The Heads of Contingent Visit will be held at the Nairamdal, 31st Asia Pacifi c Regional Scout Jamboree site. Who should attend The Heads of Contingent Visit is for Head of Contingent and members of the Contingent Management Teams. If you have not yet informed the Jamboree Offi ce of your Head of Contingent, please do so as soon as possible. You will fi nd the Appointment of Head of Contingent Form from Bulletin 1. Programme 29th July, th July, st July, 2016 Accommodation Arrival Jamboree site visit Head of Contingent meeting Closing Ceremony Departure Dormitory in Nairamdal Two people will share a room. Facilities such as toilet and showers (public bath) are located within the dormitory and will be shared with other participants. Please note that private shower facilities are not available at the Nairamdal. Fee: 275USD Upon request, participants can stay for one more day, so that they can participate the Closing Ceremony, which is scheduled in the evening of 31st July 2016 at additional cost of USD 50. Registration: Please return the Head of Contingent Visit form attached to this Bulletin 3 Appendix 1 Arrival and Departure For arrival and departure, transport from the following two points will be arranged: Chinggis Khaan International Airport, and Ulaanbaatar Railway Station. Participants are requested to arrive on before 12:00pm of 29th of July 2016, and leave in the afternoon of 31st of July from these two arrival points. As for arrival, since programme will start in afternoon of 29th of July Please note that if you are considering arriving and departing other than mentioned date, you will need to make your own travel arrangements to the above two points or directly to the Nairamdal ICC. Visas If you need a visa to enter Mongolia, please register as soon as possible. Once we receive the necessary information, we will issue an invitation letter with which you apply for a visa. Please fi nd if you needed visa to this Bulletin (Appendix 2). Participants should obtain an entry visa before traveling to Mongolia from the Mongolian Embassy or Consulate in most capital cities. The Mongolian language (in Mongolianscript:, Mongɣol kele; in Mongolian Cyrillic: Монгол хэл, Mongol khel) is the offi cial language of Mongolia and largest-known member of the Mongolic language family. The number of speakers across all its dialects may be 10 million, including the vast majority of the residents of Mongolia and many of the Mongolian residents of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In Mongolia, the Khalkha dialect, written in Cyrillic (and at times in Latin for social networking), is predominant, while in Inner Mongolia, the language is dialectilly more diverse and is written in the traditional Mongolian script.
