1 2015 Girl Scout International Camp, Korea Basic Information Objective 2015 Girl Scout International Camp, Korea has the aim of providing Girl Scouts/Guides and Scouts with opportunities: - to radiate their youthfulness by participating in a variety of activities which meet their needs - to foster an appreciation for nature and responsibility for nature conservation through camping in nature - to enhance world citizenship by interacting with participants who have diverse backgrounds, sharing international friendship and caring each other through camping life Date July 30(Thu.) August 5(Wed.), 2015 (7 days and 6 nights) Home Hospitality will be arranged to overseas guests from July 28 to 30 or from August 5 to 7 with prior request. Venue Goseong World Jamboree camp site, Korea * Goseong World Jamboree camp site is the place that the 17 th World Jamboree in 1991 was held and it is located in the East sea abutting the pacific and has beautiful beaches and world famous-mt. 2 Expected Participants 7,000 Girl Guides/Girl Scouts and non-member youths - 6,250 Korean Guides/Girl Scouts, Scouts(age 11~18) and Troop Leaders including nonmember youths overseas guests from Member Organizations of WAGGGS No limits to the number of overseas participants staff members Cost Camp fee includes program, meals, tent, transportation between Incheon International Airport and camp site and camp souvenirs such as T-shirt, scarf, patch, camp handbook and ID card. The specific menu will be informed later. Also we hope your kind understanding that it brings lots of difficulty to meet the dietary need of each camper, because there are about 7,000 campers in the campsite. If you have problem with Korean food, you are kindly requested to bring some foodstuffs to cook by yourself. The cooking utensil will be provided to you at the NHQs of your Sub-Camp upon your prior request.

Event - Opening Ceremony with K-pop Star - Troop Friendship Night - International Night - Leaders Night/ Young Leaders Night - Gatherings of Rose of Sharon Girl Scouts (the highest honor of Cadette Girl Scouts) and Gold Girl Scouts (the highest honor of Senior Girl Scouts) - Closing Ceremony 2. Exhibition - International Exhibition - Young Leader s Booths - Advertising Booths of Korean Girl Scout, Companies & NGOs 3. Course Activity - Adventure Activity : Tracking / Hang-glider Simulator / Forest Visit / EPP Glider, etc - Water Activity : Theme Park on the water/ Rafting / Kayak/ Water-ball Jump, etc - Field Trip : Traditional Korean Village or Historial Site Tour - Special Activity : Military experience / Hiking / New sports, etc The above program is subject to change without prior notice. The Preparation of overseas delegation 1. International Night - Preparation for Performance : national costumes, digital music file, any materials needed for your performance 2. International Exhibition - Preparation for Exhibition : all materials needed to show your own country and association International Exhibition : This will be arranged during the whole camp period, and 2~3 countries will be assigned in a tent (5m x 5m). GSK will provide 1 or 2 table(s) (1.8m x 0.9m) for each country with prior request. International Program : It is highly appreciated if you can introduce some programs that represent culture and tradition of your country such as song, game, dance and so on at the exhibition booth.

4 Weather Summer in Korea is hot and humid with an average temperature of 23 (73F) ~ 33 (91F). It will be sunny with occasional rain showers. It may be cool at night and warm clothes are to be prepared. Other Information - The overseas delegation with large number of participants may be assigned to the different Sub-Camps which are managed by the Provincial Councils of the Girl Scouts of Korea. - 1 troop leader per 9 girls is highly recommended. - Each delegation is responsible for its own insurance. Each participant has to pay for all costs caused by medical treatment and hospital stays. The delegation is advised to consider travel or international health insurance.
