13 Friends of City - Business Partners Networking with a difference, mix business and pleasure at Chelmsford City Football Club Friends of City is a business networking group but with added advantages for members. The networking meetings are held monthly at the Football Club and alternate between lunch and breakfast. The meetings are very informal and very popular, pulling in between one hundred to two hundred and fifty local businesses. 14 Football in the Community The Chelmsford City Football Club Community Programme has been steadily expanding over the last few years since the club moved back to Chelmsford. Community Officer Chris Finch and his community team have a high profile in local schools In these days of Xbox's, Wii consoles and Satellite TV and on top of that a climate of fear over letting children out of your sight, we provide a safe, fun environment for children to get some exercise and learn new skills Our aim is to create sporting opportunities and provide education towards a more active and healthier lifestyle for as many people as possible in and around the Chelmsford area Our coaches and representatives work in schools in and around Chelmsford covering PPA (planning, preparation and assessment) time, teaching the games side of the PE curriculum. We also run after-school clubs in various sports; do lunch clubs and clubs before school During term time there are also a number of evening sessions catering for children from 4-14 years old In school breaks we have a holiday course programme that suits children of all abilities Chelmsford City Football Club is very proud of their disability football programme and has a great deal of experience in this field, including coaching blind and deaf footballers Sessions are run at a number of local special educational needs schools and colleges and we have an adult disability football session one evening each week.
