2 OUR STORY The Actuarial Society of South Africa is a member-driven organisation that develops the knowledge, expertise and skills of members; grows the profession; and impacts positively on society and the broader sector. Today the Society has 1271 Fellows and 2316 student members. Membership increases each year, and we have mutual recognition agreements of qualifications with the UK, Irish and Australian actuarial professions. Our annual Convention is our primary vehicle for achieving the Society s goals: 1. The Convention is a vehicle to promote communication and debate about all aspects of actuarial practice, research, and education in South Africa and in this regard presents each year an exceptional programme which ensures quality professional development opportunities. GREEN EXHIBITOR AWARD The Green Exhibitor Award was introduced in 2014 in order to encourage Convention exhibitors to consider sustainability in their stand design and exhibition strategy. Exhibitors are encouraged to build with sustainable materials, incorporate outreach or CSR into their approach, reduce packaging, give sustainable gifts and goodies, and generally reduce the environmental footprint of their stand. The winner receives a beautiful trophy to display in their office until the next Convention, and is given a complimentary exhibition stand in their choice of position the following year. NOTE All fees exclude 14% VAT. Upon acceptance of a sponsorship registration form, sponsors will receive a sponsorship agreement (with invoice and addendum outlining sponsorship benefits) from the 2017 Convention Secretariat.
