He passed away on Tuesday April 10. Kenny and Thelma were our seniormost Retreads having been in the club for more than 45 years. Twenty Retreads gathered on a cold morning with no bikes in the parking lot. We were happy to see Art Grantz walk in, like breakfast with Retreads is necessary for his recovery. Linda Welsh drove Art to breakfast and it was her first time to Quakertown. Thank you for coming Linda,please come see us again soon. Carl Robinson helped me sell the 50/50 tickets. Thank you Carl. Linda Welsh was the lucky winner. Hopefully the weather will be nice for the May breakfast so we can ride somewhere afterwards. No report available 3rd Saturday Shartlesville Breakfast hosted by Bill & Nancy Lingenfelter. It was a very cold April morning but despite that we still had 4 bikes in the parking lot, 36 Retreads and 3 guests in attendance. Craig White who is the New Hampshire and Maine rep was there and yes he rode! Our guests were Bertha Lewis who is the sister of Ruth Horst and a couple who walked in that had received a Retread application at Whites H.D, they were Shawn & Dianne Malone. So the membership recruitment plan of Art s is working. The winner of the $10 prize was our guest Bertha who pulled her own ticket! She s from Canada but in the area while her husband is being treated for cancer, we wish him the best. Thanks to Dick Kern for helping Bill sell the 50/50 tickets, the winner was Art Grantz. Just a reminder there is NO BREAKFAST IN SHARTLESVILLE IN MAY due to the Mid-Atlantic rally, hope you re joining us there, it s a great time! Bill & Nancy 4 th Sunday most months Lancaster Breakfast hosted by Art Grantz It was bright and sunny, but kind of chilly this morning but 50 Retreads showed up at Hershey Farm for breakfast and fellowship. 2 There were at least 3 motorcycles in the parking lot. There was plenty of time to visit with one another and no one seemed in a hurry to leave afterward. George & Jeann Lorah won the prize donated in memory of Les Snavely, and Tim and Dorene Smith won the 50/50. I hope to see more members at our May breakfast. - Art Hellam Ice Cream Social There were nine retreads who enjoyed good camaraderie and good food at Hellamshire, two on motorcycles, just a little too cold for motorcycles. Thank you see you next month. - Charlie & Domenica Boyer New Holland Ice Cream Social We had our first ice cream social at Squire Side. The weather was sunny but not warm, but Henry rode his bike up from Maryland. There was two other bikes but we had a pretty good turn out 31 retreads. Hope to see you in June, no social in May. - Arlene/Bob Meet for Dinner Our Meet for dinner was a great success with 42 Retreads registered but 37 in attendance because of illnesses. Hopefully by now everyone has recovered. There were 3 states represented. Besides our Eastern Pa Retreads we had Jerry and Mary Fatkin from Delaware and Henry Kraus from Maryland. The weather was phenomenal and we broke the record for the amount of bikes at our April dinner meet. There were 21 bikes in the parking lot. Dick Dombach purchased carrot cake for everyone there in celebration of his 91 st birthday but sadly didn t feel up to attending. It was delicious and we all thank him. He s already feeling better. We handed out treats and as usual there were small door prizes. Thanks to everyone who attended to make this so much fun. - Bill & Nancy Ads will run 2 months then can be renewed by the member selling Suzuki Burgman AN 400, 28,000 miles.
