1 ODDS AND ENDS The official newsletter of the Las Vegas High Rollers & Strollers P.O. Box 60745, Boulder City, NV 89006! Volume 20 Issue 1 January - March 2017 Message from the President Hello again! At year-end, I d like to thank all our club members who helped with planning and execution of our events, especially those who were able to attend our meetings. Your ideas are important, because fresh eyes always give a different perspective. Thanks, also, to the Officers, who continue to provide superb inputs and guidance. We re ready with a new walk schedule for next year. If you haven t seen it, take a look at our website. Mark your calendars and be sure to join us on the trail. You ll notice a different look on our walk stamps. The new stamps are made in-house at AVA Headquarters at a greatly reduced price. The stamps in your books will be crisp and clear, something we had to struggle with in the past. We re making plans for a traditional event on the far South Strip. The walk will start at the Harley- Davidson dealership on Las Vegas Blvd., and will take in the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign, along with other sites we haven t walked before. Stay tuned for more information as our plans develop. It s not too early to plan your walks for the New Year. Challenge yourselves to reach a specific goal, and you ll be surprised at the results. If you re going out-of-town, check the AVA website for walks near your destination. Local clubs try to put together interesting and informative walks that they can be proud of. It s a great way to learn about a new place and to contribute to the success of AVA, America s Walking Club. Happy trails! Al Korejwo, President Next year, we will elect Officers for a two-year term. All positions are open, so if you re interested in getting more involved in club operations, all you have to do is raise your hand. We had a great turn-out for the Christmas walk and party. Thanks to Mary and Reesa for hosting us before and after the dinner, and to Mary for handling the dinner reservations. Congratulations to Ellen on her incredible luck! FUN, FITNESS, FRIENDSHIP
